Amazing how Marvel Studios is now synonymous with cool though.

There was a time when WB used to piss on Marvel’s head, for decades.

Marvel films what a joke it was.

I must confess I'm one of the pleb snowflake cucks that didn't see the twist coming in CW. So my obvious stupidity and lack of sophistication is surely the reason I hold such ignorant and valueless positions on these very important moofies.

:lol :lol :lol

Yup we went on a mulitple film journey with Steve, Bucky and Stark that spanned from WW2 to modern times.

2 minutes with the Get Out dude he went from feeding Rhino’s to riding Rhino’s.

It was quite disconcerting to watch Steve and Tony pummeling each other with such tenacity at the end. That coupled with the low key poignancy of Zemo and T'Challa's final exchange really made for an emotionally charged climax. BP took a step back in this movie but at least it's a recoverable one just like Cap's setbacks under Whedon were recoverable. And unlike poor Steve in the original Avengers at least T'Challa looked cool, lol.

I do think that whatever the Russos have up their sleeves for the big Wakanda battle in IW will make fans of BP realize how silly that civil war at the end of the movie was.

I honestly found Rhodey getting crippled from friendly fire more moving than the death of Killmonger. He was well developed for one movie but his final decision was a petulant, selfish move that did not serve his cause.

The flat visuals didn't help sell KM's final moments. "My father always said that the green screens in Wakanda were the most beautiful things he'd ever seen..."

LOL

"....my father was big Next Generation fan...." *dies*

END SCENE!

I thought his slavery ref was a great line but sort of wasted. He was attempting a coupe to accomplish world domination.

Yeah, I get that they were going for a sweet "Point Break" ending with two enemies who understood each other sharing a final moment before the bad guy dies while fulfilling a lifelong dream (surfing the giant wave/watching the sunset) but BP just couldn't quite earn the emotional gravitas it was trying to achieve IMO.

Yup. Like the movie as a whole - great aspirations, poor execution. I wonder if the sequel will fair better. It really felt like a rushed product...perhaps a lack of studio confidence. Now that it's a massive success it could lead to more financial and creative freedom or it could go the Friday the 13th route - it made tons with little effort, let's try that again.

But I think Disney is smarter than that. I think BP2 could be what this one is being acclaimed as.

Yep, this thread has gone ape****.

When melodramatic child drama like CW is used to attack a REAL drama like BP you know there's TLJ fans in the midst.

Well I could have pulled out the big guns like Deckard and Batty's final moments or Pacino and Deniro in Heat to illustrate how lacking Killmonger's death was but I figured that'd be overkill since CW and Point Break make the point just fine.

I don't begrudge you or anyone else for loving BP though I must say I find it quite surprising in your case.

He should have said the line in a less forced way. Sounded weird, didnt sound like real dialogue but like a line from a book or something
and he should have been more weak when saying it or something.

His last lines might as well be a wink to the camera
Killmonger might as well be winking

Lol dude, it depresses me that you actually bought anything CW was selling. I laughed during the parts that aimed to be serious. This is coming from a guy who WORSHIPS TWS.

In the words of Jodie Foster: "CW is a movie that pretends to be dramatic whilst depicting no real drama whatsoever.

BP had real drama. The fact that you missed it surprises me.

BP is an okay movie. It's lamentable because it wastes a stellar, game cast and some ripe themes on a cookie cutter story and a factory-produced aesthetic.

Silly Things this movie made people laughed in the theater:

The rhino feeding
The little shoulder dance while the fight was going on in river
Characters with lazy eyes
The carpet shields

Things that made people groan
Saving bilbo and telling him the secrets of wakanda
Having a white man save the day ( bilbo pilot)
Burning the flowers
" guns are so primitive" while using spears...
Wig throw
The barking at bilbo
"Colonizer"
Killmonger killing his girl and choking that lady
