Marvel's The Black Panther

If political message/slant = big box office $$$, then Michael Moore would be the most successful filmmaker in history.

People are seeing it because they liked it. I think it certainly has generated a great deal of curiosity in those that might not have otherwise gone to see this type of movie, but that curiosity doesnt ever translate to repeat business.

I was blown away and also lol when on my 2nd viewing this white lady in her 60’s walked in with another white lady in her late 70’s or maybe even 80’s who knows.

They were having trouble locating their Imax seats the theater was half dark and they were squinting to see their tickets and walking very slowly lol.

I was like they’re definately in the wrong theater then my wife quickly reminded me to stop with my snap prejudgement of people like I have a nasty habit of doing then she elbows me in the ribs and tells me to go help them lol

Ok fine fine.

I go to them and look at their tickets and yup they were there for BP lol.

Oh man sitting behind them were a mix of rambunctious white/black teens cursing up a storm that must’ve been fun for them to listen too lol

So I guess JAWS is right the movie is #1 five weeks in a row thanks to ***** old ladies getting their MCU fix.

Craziest **** i’ve ever seen in any theatrical experience.

Man I would’ve loved to have a sit down with them post viewing and discuss Thanos’s power level especially with the 80 year old one!

okay lets go by your reasoning,
the movie is doing so well only because people liked it so much. Okay, this movie is doing better than any other Marvel movie, and better than any other comic movie

So, does this mean people think this is the Greatest Marvel movie? Is that just what you guys want me to believe? This movie just happens to be the best Marvel movie and the movie people loved the most. Out of the entire franchise THIS movie is the Best one? or the one people loved the most?

over everything else made in the past 20 years, this is the PEAK of the comic book movie industry? the greatest achievement by Marvel then. as far as audiences go?
Is that a fair assumption? is that what is really going on?

Black Panther is OFFICIALLY the BEST marvel movie ever made:

thats not saying much given how bland the mcu can be. Besides WS, iron man, avengers and Spider-Man can you really say any of the others are Amazing movies? Nope. Black panther is a good movie that also shows a different light on Africans and African Americans. Giving black people an iconic hero to look up to. Blade is to violent.

People think Spider-Man 2 and tdk are the best movies ever made. It’s what people like. Tdk was huge when it came out and joker was everywhere. Where was your outrage then? The hype for this movie is no different than the dark knight back then

I still never said the movie was awful. I have defended Marvel movies against Snikt for weeks in a row. Snikt was always crapping on everything marvel and I had fights with him about it. I Knew people would like this movie, I liked it too.
And I Do understand how important this movie was to the black community. Just like COCO was important to the Mexican community and how Wonder woman was important to the women community.
In that sense YEAh, I can see how black panther IS the best movie ever made (in terms of equality and diversity and women in power etc)

I still feel like I might do a poll asking what movie everyone thinks is the best marvel movie, because a lot of people say the best marvel movie is Winter soldier but I find that one kinda boring to watch sometimes. It was great the first time I watched it but repeat viewings aren't as great. the quick cut shaky camera makes me sick. maybe a poll would help

While both WW and BP were definately protected by the hollywood based media companies and given additional critical praise due to their female/black foundations AT LEAST they were decent enough movies to absorb the backlash they were going to receive.

It’s not like they’re horrible movies to begin with where the media support would’ve come off as laughable.

I tried telling Feige/Kennedy that they’re upsetting Spazz/Snikt/Crows and a few others on here but they keep hanging up on me lol

All I heard was laughter and they muttered something about being worth billions.

It's not. If you take a film overall, it's not. As for Feige who also said this was the best MCU cast ever, as a boss his behavior is just wrong no matter what his reasons are. Respect for what the guy has done re the MCU but the gushing on his part wasn't needed.

His job is to sell his boss’s movies and that’s what he’s going to do or else Disney will find another producer to do that!

OF COURSE he’s going to gush that’s HIS JOB!
