CNN LITERALLY Genuinely called this movie the BARACK OBAMA of movies... Think about that... CNN, a Major News outlet, are calling a superhero movie the OBAMA OF CINEMA...

And you dont think that translates to its box office success? IM surprised this movie has not been given the Nobel Peace Prize yet..

PEople out there are calling this movie the ANTI TRUMP movie...
How does that NOT attribute to the box office?

People out there can call this movie what ever they want lol. BP is doing repeat business because it's a Good movie to a Lot of people all over the world.

I find the movie to be somewhat shallow with not much for Killmonger or T’Challa to do and the instant Civil War just came out of nowhere plus the action is absolutely underwhelming hell Blade 1 BLOWS BP AWAY in the action dept.

The females were great though and the best action scene was when the Dora brought Killmonger down to his knees but you blinked and it was over.

Listen i’m happy that black children have this movie with a cool looking hero and society to look up to and want to emulate certainly the movie was good enough to deliver what they were hoping to see.

For me it was a middle of the road MCU movie no more no fuss.

The movie is truly a first of its kind and no Blade doesn’t even come close to the structure of BP (but I prefer Blade 1 over BP).

Tell you what though everything BP related in that new IW trailer looked bad *** and not Phantom Menace like so i’m looking forward to seeing the expansion of BP and his gang (oops wrong term my bad lol).

Now when is Straight Outta Compton 2 and Roots reboot coming out lol

My gut (based on no research) says BP was a rush-job with Lord Fiege &Co having no clue how important it would be. While I freely criticise it’s shortcomings I truly believe it’s overall quality is a testament to the filmmakers. They were given a great cast, a big greenscreen, and the CGI B-team and they hit a grand slam. There’s certainly a push from the friendly media and the fickle gift of perfect timing, but it’s solid story gamely told by passionate filmmakers.

I very much look forward to the sequel, given the resources that it now demands.

There have been political movies that bombed and there were political movies that succeeded. Black panther didn’t succeed JUST because it was political.

but part of its giant success is the political backing. it goes both ways. Like jye said we have NEVER had this kind of movie before,
and we have never had a franchise like MARVEL before. this has never happened. no studio has ever done this.

Im not saying the political stuff is the ONLY reason for the success. not the 100% reason.
But these guys like Ironwez are saying the political stuff had NOTHING to do with the success...

it could even be 30% of the success. but that was enough to make it the biggest marvel movie. If this came out while Obama was president or if Trump has lost, I dont know if it would have doing the box office it has.

The entire world is in shock. the entire world needed hope, the entire world is afraid of Putin and Trump, everyone is scared of the current times.

What is ironic is that Black Panther literally became the "SUPERMAN" to our world. We dont have real superheroes saving cats from trees, but in a weird way Black Panther became this World's "superhero" Black Panther came out at the right time under the "right" circumstances.

the world right now (thanks to the media) is like terrified of everything, and Black Panther was the hope everyone desperately needed. Thats what im saying.

This movie is gonna be avatar because of the time it came out.

Thats why other movies like Blade and Meteor man were not as big. no one was as terrified back then.
(People seriously think Trump is Hitler Incarnate... come on now)

It gets boring always just looking up to your parents priest or pastor as role models because they don’t have toys made out of them lol.

I'll gently disagree that it was a rush job in the sense that there wasn't a sense or whiff in the press that the movie had any production problems and seemed to have finished on schedule. Do have the sense that Coogler may not have been as comfortable in the comic-to-movie world as some of the other MCU directors. E.g. the neglect of the CGI, pacing, uneven tone.

Guess it says a lot about the appeal of the actors/characters that it's getting so many repeat views. Then again, doesn't seem to be much to see tho Variety thinks Pacific Rim may bump BP from being #1.

Avatar when it first came out was hailed as the greatest movie of our time. People cried about it. People saw it and said it changed there life. It was a phenomenon.

The dark knight. People worship the movie and quoted its scenes. Joker became one of the most iconic villains of all time. And yes people saw political undertones in this movie.

What’s your deal with this movie? They brought up points but they didn’t throw it in your face. Shows like black lightning for example is a show that constantly reminds you of the injustice of the world. Black panther made references and kept it moving. Every movie has a real world msg man.

People ride the hype train. Movie came out last month. It’s still fairly new. Relax
