Killmonger and Bane share a lot of similar things and have similar arcs:


both of them are outcasts from their groups (Wakanda/ league of shadows)

both of them grew up in the shadow of the hero waiting for their moment to attack

Both of them had their "father" killed (Killmonger's dad and Bane's father figure)

both of them want to reedem themselves

both of them Take control of their groups

both of them fight the hero and leave him for dead.

both of them want to liberate their people (wakandans around the globe/ the prisoners in Gotham jail)

both of them want to see the world burn

both of them feel betrayed by the hero

Both of them hurt someone close to the hero (Bane hurts Gordon/ Killmonger stabs his uncle)

both of them steal the Hero's technology to use for their purpose

both of them take control of their city/country and become rulers

Both of them are betrayed and defeated by the people of their country/city

both of them create a civil war at the end of the movie

both of them are defeated and killed when the hero returns triumphant

both of them kill their own men (Bane in the plane, Killmonger in the shootout with Claw)


killmonger IS bane... the next time you guys want to crap on Bane or Dark Knight Rises, just know that your critiques can apply to Killmonger

but their arcs are almost identical. Specially when they defeat the hero and take over their city and want to burn the world and then the hero defeats them in civil war.

they both want to use the technology the hero had to destroy the oppressors...... come on now dude. dont play that game with me

All the Rises talk just made me realize how Killmonger and Bane have the same arcs. it has nothing to do with hating on anything. I didnt hate killmonger but you are being such a ****** you just want to troll me

I like The Prestige better than any Rian Johnson movie so I'd give the directing award to Nolan.

But SW movies are about relatable archetype characters with heart and passion and Nolan characters are usually ice-cold robot people. I'd rather watch Hux's Adventures on E-Harmony than a Nolan SW movie.

Hey I love LOOPER for ex...Just cant stand what he did with SW...IMHO Nolan woulda done way better...

I won't say Looper is bad but it's the only time travel movie that broke my suspension of disbelief because of how terrible the logic is. Not just the time travels stuff, but character motivation.

I actually was just using Looper as an example yesterday to show some of the shortcomings he displays in TLJ. Mainly he seems more interested in the moment, or the gag, than the result it has on the greater story.

But SW is a broken horse skeleton at this point so I'll leave it at that.
