I liked POTC 1 and 2. Thought 3 was a real letdown and did not care for the next two at all.

I would say POTC 1 and 2 > PT and NT But I would still rather watch PT and NT because... Star Wars

I know how you feel (Pirates is to me what Star Wars is to you).

Pirates 3 is the weakest of the series for me because it's running time is so bloated and I hated how they made Davy Jones Beckett's pet.

Seriously though jye, if you haven't seen CotBP, DMC, or DMTNT, you really need to. Normally I don't condone spending more money on DVDs that you don't already own but you're in a really bad situation here.

Star Wars at their best and even the MCU at their best don't even come close to the final dual between Jack and Barbossa in CotBP, which is breathtaking on a big screen.

Also don't forget to have the kids watch all five of them. If they like the PT no reason they can't love PotC.

I think it all boils down to taste, personally. I find all SW films after 1983 bad and bland with the exception of ROTS because to me they didn't look or feel like anything different from previous Star Wars films, so in a way, I think those films are to me what Pirates 5 is to you. At the very least Javier Bardem's character was pretty cool IMO.
