audience who were starving for this particular kind of content
Which is the same kind of content but with mostly black actors.

If I give a starving person a mediocre meal it won’t be mediocre for them see what i’m saying.
Comparing those who can't afford food to those who go to cinema and buy merch?
You've just created a black hole of logic, Jye.

My belly might be full of the best movies cinema had to offer me for the last 40 years
Your belly is full of fast food, as we talked in the other thread.

Take a step back and look at the whole picture then you will also get it.
Listen to your own advice before posting next time, please.
It became worrisome, I'm dead serious.

Well I guess even with it being mediocre it was good enough for the intended audience who were starving for this particular kind of content.

My belly might be full of the best movies cinema had to offer me for the last 40 years but a person with an empty belly is sure going to wear that BP tshirt like it’s a 3 course lobster meal.

I get it.

I get it. Never said I didn't. And i do get your food reference and agree. Yet the media doesn't say McDonalds has the best hamburgers cause they've sold the most, nor praise them cause maybe a certain ethnic demographic is smitten with it.

As a fan of the genre and comics in general since the 80's it's a bit disheartening when a movie isn't actually acknowledged for what it is but rather for what it represents. It gets touted and praised as one of the best MCU movies yet story wise its far from it. BP was one of my favorite parts of Civil War. Yet in his own movie I find the character lackluster.

the movie might be mediocre for a marvel or a super hero fan

for NON Marvel fans the movie is amazing. for NON action NON superhero fans the movie is incredible

i think thats the problem. the movie is being judged by two sets of people. the comic fans might be more harsh because they are so used to comic movies.
the regular movie goer might be super amazed by the visuals and the effects and the action

it is literally the same as GET OUT. Get out for horror fans is cliche and boring and mediocre as a horror. it tells the same story other 20 movies have told in the past. Get Out drags a little bit and doesnt tell anything new to your regular horror fan

For NON horror fans get out is the most amazing horror movie they have ever seen, for people that never watch horror, get out was suspenseful and scary and funny and shocking.
because they dont know the horror history your regular horror fan knows.

neither people are wrong. neither view is wrong. it is just different

:goodpost: ... I do concur.

are we really freaking gonna talk about fast food in here as well????? JYE YOU ARE A MONSTER :lol

Jye what the hell ???????? :gah:

dude dont talk about fast food, use a different metaphor, dont fall for jye's tricks lol

But yeah, this movie and get out are amazing because the people watching them never saw anything like it, because they dont watch these kind of movies.
these two are brand new experiences and they are amazing experiences.

Got it!! No more food refrences... :lol

Damn you Jye!!...

That's fine and it's great they experienced something new. But don't run around in the streets with your arms flailing in the air while shouting it's the best ever when meanwhile you have nothing to compare it to. Its disgenuine praise and means nothing.

its like with the childish gambino video "this is america"
system of a down and rage against the machine have done that kind of video ans commentary in the past. what he sings about is not really that revolutionary. the video has violence, but the video is minimalistic.

yet it is being called Shakespearean by so many people and being called the most revolutionary song of all time, by people that are used to listen to katy perry and taylor swift.....

So this is where all the burger-posting is. :)

While nuts are a good form of protein I need something with a little more hair on it's chest like a good burger.
