I think the flood of bad reviews will be real, and they are preemptively trying to blame it on something else.

Those new spots look terrible. Terrible CGI and TV quality fight choreography.

They are already, BEFORE ANYONE HAS SEEN IT, claiming this to be a huge, HUGE “all-black” hit, saying opening weekend will be the biggest of ALL the Marvel movies, and if it fails, it will be blamed on...

I'll try to dig up the image I saw. Meanwhile, Facebook and others are patting themselves on the back for shutting down the most vocal group. Honestly haven't been paying that much attention as IMO ticket sales will speak for themselves, no matter what anonymous folks are bickering over online.

The Disney conspiracy theory (e.g. loading negative votes etc. against DC movies online) is pretty funny tho. Or sad.

E.g. the rating spread - for one thing, far as I know the only people who have seen BP were invited guests to a premier unlikely to rate it low. For another, these are bogus anyway the movie isn't out. At this point don't even know if IMDB has stopped any ratings of BP like other sites.

Well, yeah, apparently there's a counter-move (really haven't paid attention, but you come across comments on Instagram and elsewhere) to counter anyone down-rating or downvoting at online sites.

Dunno if it will be the biggest Marvel movie of all time. For sure (based on comments I've read on blogs) - at least people there have said outright they are bringing entire families; people who have no interest in comics are going; they're going to celebrate diversity, etc.

So for sure at least the weekend domestic BO is pretty loaded. Then there ARE comic or MCU lovers who are going opening weekend. (I would've fallen into that category until all the frenzy and BS started with this film. I just wanted to enjoy a good story with a lead-in to IW.)

But if this film performs like a lot of Marvel films - pretty well but not breaking a billion and other stuff I've read - that's NOTHING to complain about. Feige & co. have fallen over themselves with this film IMO; casting, press, even being the last film before IW. I'm not getting what I was hoping for in this film, but other people are. *Shrug* Cap & co. and more IW build-up could have been incorporated (which would have brought in those fans), but the decision was made to make a more Guardians-type movie e.g. pretty stand-alone.

Plus this isn't a character like Batman, Spiderman or even Captain America that's a household name. It's not like Superman or Wonder Woman.

Marvel must have run the numbers and figured they'd make a profit (they probably already have from early ticket sales). So now it's up to the movie. Hopefully the characters and narrative are compelling enough that the sketchy CGI and other stuff can be blown off.
