Yeah, I have a feeling the movie will be good, but I also have a feeling it will get a lot of extremely friendly reviews from critics who think that that’s what they’re supposed to do.
I thought it was gonna be good. Then I saw the CGI and heard the one-liners. It's gonna be just another Wonder Woman.

All I know is you can't stroke the statue without playing with the weinstein.
How big do you think it is? Surprising that with all the accusations, we never got one gal to come forward and say "and he got a tiny diddly-doo"...

24 reviews in and it's still at 100%. It will surely go down but I'm curious to see how much.

Probably will be above 90% like others have said, but mainly due to diversity and not it being a great movie. If the film truly is that good and deserving of it then I'll be very happy, but the score won't be super trustworthy.

I liked Cinema Blend's writeup; plenty of good stuff to say while touching on some things that could have done better. Overall sounds like another good Marvel film with some unique aspects.

Ryan Coogler's Black Panther is one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most powerful, moving, and thematically resonant films to date. It's also one of its most uneven, when all is said and done. Marvel Studio's Phase 3 still has yet to produce a single bad movie. Having said that, Black Panther's clunky first act, sometimes cumbersome cast size, and hit-or-miss visuals make this one of Phase 3's most inconsistent entries to date.

So the reviewer's actual 3.5 rating becomes FRESH on RT which is why I read before heading to a theater. I just need enough info to decide on a theater effort or not, and whether to shell out for premum 3D IMAX. (Not many movies for me are like IW where the pricey shows are automatic buys.)

Snowboi, EVERYTHIN gonna be black in a while.

Better submit already.

>humans advance by trade between nations
>if left alone Africa would've surpassed everyone
>muh out of Africa means they were alone, and the first, for a looong time
>REEEEEEE WHITE MAN
>bow to da B-B-C

Top Tier Thespians! Euripides would've been proud...

I'm disappointed an apparently intelligent actor would say that. Race aside, folks are folks. The human species is always happy to battle over resources over any pretext. It's like the Terminator said - it's in our nature to destroy ourselves. Sux.

That review would have given Justice League a rotten.

I'm trying the frameless small ones now but still... LASIK or those permanent contacts are my only options now. Until those cybernetic eyes become a reality past "you can see shadows; kinda".

>tfw you had 20/20 vision
>then genetics kicked in

It's not a whole lot, but still.

No fedora? That's surprising.

It's one thing to wear trendy frames, but you don't have all the Nu-Male features i.e. cuckbeard/neckbeard and fear grimace smile.

Yeah I know, I'm just banting. To this day, I cannot understand the soysmile. I legitimately do not. Why open your mouth so damn wide? Are you waiting to swallow something? Is the photographer throwing gummy bears at them? What's the point?! Add that with a pudgy face and a spotty beard and you get, well, them...

They really are this weird offshoot genus of the human race. I think it's due to getting coddled by mommy and daddy in the early 2000s WAY too much. Maybe getting breastfed way too long as well.

Could be, but I'm mostly leaning on them growing up with little self-esteem and masculine archetypes. I mean, I grew up so coddled I was wearing designer diapers, but at the same time I got into sports and exercise from a young age, so the two contrasted each other. When my dad's old biker "gang" came together, I could sit and have a beer with them even though I was 11. But all these guys seem like the type who grew up with the "body doesn't matter, facts don't matter, only your feelings do" & "brains are all you need" philosophies, while at the same time not exercising either "muscle", bar buying into "intellectual ideals" and stopping there. Worst thing is, they never felt a sort of self-hate that would motivate them to change. And since they're so many these days, and can find and interact with each other, why bother? At the end of the day, if Dave is content with a dog and an open-relationship with Samantha and her friend Dayshun, who are we to judge? Less Daves in the future anyhow...

That review talking about the inconsistencies and clunkly first act...

Nothin' at least some of the other reviews said, more or less. Just depends on whoever is bein' more PC. What I think is true so far, without seeing the movie - based on reviews I've already read is:

1) For me anyway the internal conflicts T'challa deals with sound interesting;
2) The cast is uniformly good (nothing new there; Marvel always seems to have excellent casts) but apparently you wish there were more time with them (nothing new there either)
3) Jordan is being consistently mentioned as a standout;
4) Some spectacular visuals/design
5) CGI issues

For me it sounds like worth seeing but - for me - no regrets on passing overpaying for fan event or weekend crowds. Maybe I'll hit a matinee. Or not.:dunno
