I think there's a disconnect with the "urban" tag. They're saying that they want to appeal to an "urban" audience, which just means "black." They aren't talking about ghettoizing T'Challa or setting it in an exclusively urban environment.

Psssst...Hey, TheMike...MIB is Marvel.:)

WHAT!?!?!??!!

It's Marvel the same way Star Wars is. I think everyone knew what I meant.

Because many "urban" people are going to instantly connect with a wealthy African king who's essentially the Wakandan equivalent of Tony Stark (but without the vices)?

What I took away from that statement is that they're re-defining the character the way Hollywood does (i.e. stereotyping), in an attempt to appeal to minorities who they don't seem to think went to see Avengers despite the record breaking box office.

To keep true to the character there isn't a way to realistically appeal to the "urban" market as is being spoken of. The character has a rich history and there are plenty of awesome stories with him in it that will appeal to all audiences if they focus on the storytelling and the awesome visual environments. If they try to realistically try to overmodernize it, then it won't appeal to anyone.

Some are saying he should be an Avenger (movie) though I think they have a good chemistry with who they have now and adding and/or removing characters might mess that up. Why mess with a good thing?

Probably because the Avengers have a decades long history of constantly shifting their roster (for better or worse.) It'd give people something new to be excited about and seemed to work for the X-Men films.

That's true but when you're talking about a 2 hour movie, it's pretty hard to give enough screen time to too many characters. There were complaints on The Avengers giving most of the screen time to Iron Man.

The X-Men films still centered around the core players from the first film. Some of the added characters came and went really quick. I guess what I'm saying is that I hope they keep the core characters that made the first film so great.

I will like to see Hawkeye replaced with Black Panther, and replace Black Widow with Wasp or something

I like Black Widow but I dont want her in the next movie, I Want another girl more interesting, someone with powers or something cool at least, this is the Avengers for Crying out loud, black Widow is just eye candy

I agree. Keep the main four and then have revolving members in the #5 and #6 spots. Either Vision and Scarlet Witch or Ant-Man and Wasp would be good for me for A2. Superheroes in black jumpsuits that don't do anything special is so 12 years ago. ;)

If the rumors are true, expect the roster to be padded with Falcon and Black Panther.
