Create and account at Dr Pepper with some bs info and then you log onto EA's site automatically. Be aware you can only choose one prize though. I picked the first one and then wanted to enter the second code but it would not work anymore. :p

Ah, makes sense now. Meh... I don't need any of that stuff. I just need to get the game finished. I'm thinking about restarting though and choosing a different class....being a Soldier is kind of boring.

There is a work around so you can get all 3 of the downloads. You need to log out of the dr pepper website. Go back to the promotions and enter the code (it can be the same used for the 1st download). Create a new username and go from there like you did for the 1st download.

I entered these codes in last week and it would allow you to choose one item, one code....weird.... 2nd code, 2nd item, etc.

Why did they change it...?

Just finished the game (finally, I know). I call bull on my ending results:

Mordin died!!!! I was so angry when I watched the scene after the Collector base starts exploding and Shep and crew start escaping....Mordin's body was limp on the ground.

I don't understand. I did everything I could to make sure my Squad survived and it seemed guaranteed until that final escape sequence.

This is how I ran through the final mission:

Specialist (the one that goes through the vents): Legion
Fire/2nd squad leader: Jacob
My team: Garrus and Miranda

Second part -

Biotic specialist: Samara
Crew escort back to Normandy: Tali
2nd squad leader: Miranda
My team: Garrus and Mordin

Final part -
Garrus and Miranda

I'm trying to figure out the algorithm behind the choices. If I had played that part differently and chose different people, would 1 character still have died? Makes no sense. Seems random.

It's not random. If you have the loyalty of all of your characters there is a way to have them all survive by your team choices at the end. Look at kain4521's post above. He figured it out.

There's so many variables that makes me certain kain's choice of squad rotation isn't the only one, but I'll try it.

I did everything, and I mean, EVERYTHING possible to make sure everyone survived. Max Paragon, all upgrades, all loyalty, all cerberus crew members (Dr. Chakwas, Kelly Chambers, etc) rescued, and in the end I got an unsatisfactory outcome.

It feels so arbitrary, how the game chooses who dies and who survives. You're telling me that the ending choice of squad rotation is what decides it? that's so...lame, after everything the game makes you do to ensure survival.

What was your final game time, plasmid? I'm 27 hours in and still doing my loyalty missions; currently on Krogen homeworld....really good seeing Wrex again

What ticks me off so much about this situation is that the variables and logic behind ME2 is so obscure. Even if I did everything possible, the final survival outcome depends on an arbitrary formula of squad mate choice at the end?

It's hard to really deduce because we don't know what the game takes into account outside of the obvious things (loyalty, ship upgrades, morality). For all we know, your exact choice of dialogue has an affect on the outcome in a minute scale, but that's not possible.

It's just that, before the ending, the cause and effect seemed black and white. Clear. If you upgrade your ship fully, the entire squad has an increased likelihood of survival. If you do their loyalty missions (and not side with one character versus another aka Miranda/Jack) then, again, that increases the likelihood of entire team surviving.

What's left to add to the equation if I know that I did everything right?

39 hours. I just about did everything I could except fully scan all the planets. Too many of them. I'm not that much of a completionist.

Hello, Im new here, and dont know how this forum works, this was the first thread I could see. I live in Australia and I knw The Tuggurnat or whatever, does that help me out here

Oh cool, I'll try that then. It's just fun to collect them all even though I may not use it.

Nah mine is not the only way I am sure because I tried different formulas and I would fail the first mission but succeed at the second and I just figured out that formula.
I picked Garrus as my second squad leader based on the fact he was C-sec officer and he had also lead a group of mercs so he was a natural choice as leader my only other option for that position would have been Miranda. Legion or Tali both are perfect for the tech specialist so you cant go wrong with either one of them. Mordin was the only choice for me to lead the Normandy crew back to the ship because of his fighting prowess and his ability as a doctor to help the wounded out. Jack, Samara, or Morinth is the only options for the biotic specialist so any of these will do. Just really a process of elimination and didn't really take that long to figure out on my first time through Legion took a bullet to the head and Tali got shot in the chest because I had Tali leading my second group.

re: ending

This was my setup. I had done everyone's sidequest so all were loyal. I think that even if you pick the right person for the job they can die if not loyal.

Tech specialist: Legion (I've read Tali works also)
Second squad leader: Garrus
My squad: Miranda and Tali

Biotic: Samara (I've read Jack works also, if you pick Miranda she will get tired too soon and someone dies)
Survivor escort: Grunt
Second squad leader: Garrus
My squad: Miranda and Tali

Everyone lived.

Random thoughts after beating the game:

I'm sad Legion is picked up so close to the endgame, he is a freaking sweet character. Tali's still my favorite though. <3 On my next playthrough I'm totally getting with her, I think her romance is the best... very emotionally charged from what I've seen. I liked Miranda as a character and really felt for her, but I thought the payoff from her romance was... well, a little shallow. Although I loved it when she told the Illusive Man to piss off and she was staying with me, that was sweet.

Cool....that sounds right...given that i seem to spend a lot of time scanning planets - something I find enjoyable for some reason - my final time will probably be about 40 -45 hours. Pretty decent length, for sure.
