Has anyone noticed that the District 9 aliens look exactly like Mass Effects Saren?

Eh, not really. They have things in common, sure, but carapaces, 3 fingers and goatlegs are very common in sci-fi. Besides, Saren and his race are more reptillian with hardened skin for desert conditions, while the Prawns are heavy insectoids.

How does your past saves effect this game? Do you get to keep all of your equipment and stuff?

I'm not sure I deleted my save after I traded this in so I have to go back through it again which is not a bad thing.:D

They are not *exactly saying* but it'll be stuff like
did you let Wrex die. If so, he aint in ME 2 (for you)...

stuff like that. That said, hes a cameo only, apparently

If you pre order at Gamestop here is what you get.

Reserve Mass Effect 2 and receive GameStop exclusive Terminus Assault Armor and M-490 Blackstorm gun.

The Terminus Armor: Like all modern combat hard-suits, Terminus armor is environmentally sealed with an independent air supply for use in space and extreme planetary conditions, with an onboard “micro-frame” computer capable of running a suite of battle management software. To prevent detection by passive thermal sensors, body heat is channeled to the base of the feet, where it can be dispersed into the ground.

Increases storm speed by 10%
Increase shields +15%
Increases all weapons reserve ammo by +1

M-490 Blackstorm: The Blackstorm encases a few particles of matter within a high-powered mass-increasing field, elevating them to near-infinite mass and creating a powerful localized gravity well that draws nearby enemies and objects into itself. The rapidly-increasing gravity near the event horizon of the singularity rips the objects apart.

Fires a singularity projectile that draws in nearby enemies, and then explosively hurls them away.

Can be charged up to create larger more powerful singularities.
Available online and in-store while supplies last.

Do you know if those pre-order bonus items are ONLY available via Gamestop's version, or will they also be unlockable in-game through gameplay?

Gamestop has a tendency of advertising exclusive content that turns out to be standard content that can be unlocked on any copy of the game, like the unlockable characters in Lego Indiana Jones. But, in other cases like the Incredible Hulk, they truly have had extras exclusive to games purchased from their stores and available nowhere else.

As of right now I really dont know but it being ME:2 I would say it is a safe bet that either you can buy them on down the road be it in game or as extra dl content.

Not sure why, but Tali was a mainstay in my party for pretty much the entire game. I needed the balance of specialties or something, I think, because she isn't a particularly a spectacularly interesting character.

That's pretty cool. Original wasn't that short, but I'm all for a longer game. This game isn't that far away--and definitely my most anticipated game, even more than CODMW2

I hope they worked out the screen tearing/v-sync issue that effected the first game (for pc). And I hope they didn't cap the frame rate at 60fps.

Yeah, that really, really detracted from 2 or 3 key missions...it was really, really awful....

V synch/framerrate issues are the bane of my gamer experience
