Nope, no differences in the Mer-Mans sold today versus the future ones.

Also, I got my order in after 30 minutes. Ordered 2 like usual. Now, the kicker. Tried to order those same 2 for 30 minutes and after the 30 minutes of constant reloading, I finally got a confirmation. Got home later on and checked my email and I now have 2 Mer-Mans X3 coming. Great job Digital River. The fun will be getting 2 of those orders returned. If it's too much of a hassle I may sell the extras to people on here that didn't get any (at a NON inflated price + shipping). I'll let you guys know how the battle with customer service goes.

Well, i called their customer service and they told me that they didn't want to cancel any orders because they said that the pending transactions should get cleared. they didn't want to cancel any of my orders because they were afraid that they might cancel the wrong order. So, i have to wait until tomorrow morning and check my account.. If it's still there, i was told to call them back. Good luck, man.. hope they come through for you.
I called Matty CS yesterday and was able to cancel two of my three orders. I was out in the field, if I had known a lot of you missed out I would've kept the orders to help my people out. :(

so how do places like BBTS get their MOTUC? do they have a certain amount allotted to them or do they have their employees waiting at 12PM to all order 10 each as many times as they can? I believe BBTS sells them for $35 to $40.

On the He-man forums somebody had one from each batch and claimed there were some slight differences. Some of this however just looks like variations caused by the hand painting.

-different right hands (one is more opened with a finger more raised).
-different brushed color effects on its armor and weapon staff.
-the yellow on its "puppet" head is also different like for the green and its "classic" head.
-2 different serial numbers bellow the feet.
-the blue of the emeralds are different.
-aerographer effects are slightly more important on one body.

Here are some of the pics:

The ones pictured are prototypes. Don't think anyone has received a Mer-Man yet (1st batch hasn't been shipped, 2nd batched hasn't even been sold). I'm willing to bet that the two batches are pretty much identical.

The author claimed he believed weren't prototypes, but in fact final packaged figures. They were both stamped with production numbers from the factory, which was not the case with prototypes he does own.

But the differences appear to be pretty negligible.

I actually like the brighter yellow version better. It fits with the rest of the MOTUC. I don't really care for the gold/blackwash look of the other. The Mer-Mans i've seen packaged and reviewed are the clean yellow versions, so, here's hoping!

And I like the dirty one, to each their own I guess. Here's hoping we get the paint wash we each prefer!!!

I hear that! Hopefully it doesn't come down to having to swap Mer-Mans on here or elsewhere to get the paint wash we desire. I hope there's actually 1 wash and not many.

Also, if you haven't read the news at He-Man.org they are saying that He-Ro will come packaged with his staff CLOSED and that there will actually be 3 different colors of the Spell Stone with green being the most common. So, the ones at SDCC and online will be random and no one knows what color they'll actually have until they open him up. Pretty cool imo...makes it harder for scalpers to say "I have the ultra rare blue stone"!

Actually it's pretty annoying if you ask me. I don't see what the problem is with doing ONE version of the figure for both the Con and online and then just slapping a sticker on them to differentiate.

Personally I think the different colored stones makes things a little more interesting and well, fun! Its going to be neat seeing which ones everyone gets. I guess if you're a completist it would be annoying trying to track down all three, unless you keep them carded then you could just pretend.

I've just never been a fan of blind ANYTHING. I like to know exactly what Im getting when I buy. Hence why I loath Kubricks.

Yeah the completist it would b very annoying but I'm torn between both options, I like the hunt and I like to complete so I guess it makes it fun for me as well.

So anyone else wishing they would do SOME repaints already? First ones I can see outta the gate would be a MOTUC take on Wonderbread/Savage He-man and Green Godess. All He-Man would need tooled up is the ax, and for Green Godess all you need is a new head on Teela. Any other ideas?
