seriously! Can someone please explain why my package leaves a facility 25 miles from me and travels for weeks halfway across America before getting here. Last year I would get my orders within a day or two...now it takes over a week. I've gotta quite this line.
They want you to get your money's worth out of the over priced shipping charges.

Looking foward to Sorceress, Fisto, and Stinkor. Can't wait for Horde Prime as well. Star Sisters will be in the back row on the shelf. But they will be there nonetheless.

Star Sisters is such a bitter pill, mainly because of the price (I can live with the odd figure I have little interest in, but three at once for $60 is something else...), but just the knowledge that three of my all time faves - Fisto, Stinkor, and Kobra Khan - are all on the horizon will pull me through with sticking by the line for a little while longer.

Its going to take Ram Man,Jitsu or Spikor to get me to re-subscribe to the 2013 subscription. You hear that Toyguru??

I suspect Ram Man is coming though,so there's one

How much was the Stay Puff man and how much was the Cloverfield monster and how well did those come out? (Spoiler alert they where expensive and crap).

Who knows though, the Ghostbusters trap was actually pretty awesome for the price.

Yeah, I know. Do you think he'll be well made for 80+$?

And do you think, the casual customers will also buy him?

I think the 4 Horseman will Sculpt an amazing figure, whether or not it matches the prototype or does NOT have QC issues, that remains to be seen.Do I think it will sell? Yes and No.Where will the Economy be by the end of 2012? I honestly prefer that they drop Granamir and make two vehicles instead (Battle Ram and Land Shark) and Save the Dragon for later

I noticed that last week's releases lasted several days on the Matty site. With the discussions of smaller runs, do you guys think things will be the way the last few sale days have been or are we headed back to figures selling out in 20 minutes again?

supposedly NO! Toyguru said numbers produced will be very close to actual Subs Sold. There will be some extra stock for sale, but I'd expect 5-10 minute sell-outs if you actually can get from the WSOD..

likely another sales tactic to strongarm those into buying a 2013 Sub...quick sell-outs = frustrated customer = breaks down and buys a Sub or just quits the line :)

If that will be the case, I would think there would only be half the subscribers next year as there would be this year. It would be interesting to know if interest in the line has increased or decreased.

The granamyr sculpt with probably kick ass but mattel wil ruin the overall figure with their budget "logistics". Just like Tytus and Megator. Great looking figures, but no articulation and they are cheap rotocast.

well there are a few on this board who might be dropping their Subs, have quit the line (ski-man) or passing on the 2013 Sub (including myself and a buddy of mine). That's lost customers right there.I'd say there is still 'interest' but for how long?

After looking at Swiftwind on my shelf,it was a wake up call that we are bound to get more GIRLY Horses, pink Cats like Clawdeen (No thanks!!!)...Crap Sisters didn't help either and I realize that POP should be left to the girls, just like it was back in the day!

I am a Vintage guy,and I want the remaining figures done than wasting spots on POOP figures....I don't mind some Filmation characters(Batros,Strongarm) I want Castle Grayskull,Battle Ram,Land Shark and a Fright Zone, then call it day.

I say it definitely has decreased... there's very few A-listers left from the Original MOTU, and while I like some obscure/concept characters, the majority of people are growing tired of buying all these unknowns to get to Ram Man for example.
I honestly think a lot of fans are dropping the line, and I wouldn't be surprised if the line dies by the end of 2013...
All the crap Matty pulls on people is reaching the limit for a lot of us...
Skiman was the first to fall...

Still need all the Snake Men and the rest of the Horde before we can call it a day. I'm gonna be pissed if we don't get them.

I'd be happy just getting these from the Horde

Mantenna
Modulok
Mosquitor

Snakemen

Rattlor
Tung Lashor
Snake Face (rumored for 2012)

I do wonder if they would have had better luck with the original MOTU figures by only having one release a month, so that people don't get wallet fatigue. They then could have separate POP and NA lines and even run them in a parallel manner.

If I had done the subscription I would have had to give up my Hot Toys habit.

that's exactly what I wish they would do! Seperate faction Subscriptions

Vintage MOTU
POP
Filmation
New Adventures
200x

that way everyone can be truely happy instead of being forced to buy a figure you don't really want

This. I also think, they start to do it, like they did in 2010. It worked, even with all the angered customers, who didn't get their Trap Jaws & Battle Cats.

As for Granamyr: If I would buy one, he would cost around 150$ total in Germany, because of expensive shipping costs & customs. I also think, he'll made like the giants, cheap and with the rotocast method.

Yeah, but they know the truth is there aren't enough fans of most of those other factions to make such a sub-line financially viable. It's the same reason they don't let sub holders opt out of any upcoming figures they don't want, because Mattel know damn well many of these niche pieces wouldn't sell enough to be justified in being made unless a good percentage of collectors were basically being forced into buying them.

Personally I give the line until 2014. Next year is locked in of course, but I predict an even bigger drop off in 2013 as far as subs and sales and just plain line fatigue goes, and much doomsaying to go with it. And the fact that this line isn't new collector friendly (and even less so as more time goes on), so lost buyers aren't exactly readily replaced by new buyers, doesn't exactly do it any favours either.

I think 2014 subs will be the final 'call to arms' year, but while they will scrape enough subscribers to go forward, they still won't get enough of a boost for Matty to see the line as viable beyond that year.

Oh, and when the line does collapse, it'll be all our fault and Matty will blame us for not supporting it enough, despite the thousands we've pumped ino it over the years at that point, and the often inept way that Matty has handled things... :lol

Sadly, I agree.

I think there just isn't a big enough fan-base for the 'all-encompassing' MOTUC to keep the line going. More people will continue to drop the line than new collectors getting on board. I think the majority of fans are getting fed up with the subscription model and Matty's antics to put up with waiting years for the few remaining figures most collectors really want.

I'm willing to bet that if they had gone with a strictly vintage MOTU line-up with the occasional new figure thrown in, the line would have fared better. But how many Faceless Ones and Horde Primes do casual collectors really want? And I don't think there's enough hardcore MOTU fans to keep sub numbers up.

If we go back to 5 minute sell outs, I expect more people will drop the line than sign up for a 2013 sub. At this point, the majority of the 'big guns' are out, and most would rather get the few they really want from ebay or 3rd party sellers than sign up for a $500+ sub of things they don't want.

Unfortunately, I think the odds of getting a complete vintage line-up released at this point are slim. And I think we can forget about Grayskull and most of the vehicles and other playsets at this point.:(
