I believe subscription will guarantee you 1 of each monthly figure. Any bonus figures or extras you are on your own to get when they go up for order.

I think I might just bite the bullet and go for the Max on Zodac and Hordak because I know I can help folks out if they miss.

I hope they allow you to choose quanity in the subscription method...give us at least 2 per person

We probably won't know for sure till Comic Con. Which sucks. I want to know these supposed cool winter annoucements.

didn't someone mention earlier that there were different variations of the mer-man with slightly different paint or something? I got my 3 today and they all look the same. he is badass!:D

I got my 2 yesterday, yes he is badass and the gills are a nice touch. I can't believe I was able to snag 2 of these bad boys.

According to Matty's post today, all the Mer-mans are supposed to be the same. They are splitting the shipment with the same production.

Mer-man back on sale 4/29

Hey MOTU fans,

Mer Man will offically be back on sale on April 29th at 12:00 Eastern. We have worked out all the bugs in the system which had haulted some international customers and for others blocked the site entirly. For this we are truly sorry and it was not intentional.

But on the 29th, all the bugs should be ironed out and Mer Man's second shipment will go on sale.

To reitterate, this is not a second run, but rather the second shipment of the first run. Because we asked for an increase in production late in the game (when Stratos sold out in 3 days!) we had to take Mer Man in two seperate shipments. We also increased production of Zodac and Hordak as well but they will arrive in one shipment.

If this second shipment of Mer Man also sells out fast we will continue to look at increasing runs until we hit just right right number. We sold as many Mer Mans in 1 hour last week as we did Beastman in 41 days, so you can see the tightrope we have been on to not over produce while still having enough to go around. Seems right now each new figure is more popular than the last and with the current production run we are hoping he will stay available for at least a little while.

Also, we are working on completing the subscription run. This should be up in the next few month or so and will likley include the final 6 figures of 2009. It will not include special bonus figures such as SDCC or other monthly bonus characters. It will only be for the monthly figure and we will not be revealing who all of the characters are yet. So if you are buying the subscription, know you are committing to buying the remaining figures for the year no matter whom they are (and boy do we have some good ones coming out this winter!)

The subscription service will also continue in 2010, but will in that case be for all 12 monthly figures. There may be additional convention and bonus figures in 2010, but like in 2009, they will not be included in the subscription program. (as we can't always lock down when they are coming out based on shows moving dates, etc...)

Hopefully this second Mer Man sale will go very smooth and we can head into next month where the Cosmic Enforcer Zodac will join your MOTUC collection on May 15th! (and don't forget the JLU Legion of Superheroes 4 pack, also available on May 15th)

See you in the toy aisles!

Matty

Cool! They're doing a nice job overall with handling things and the figures themselves are pure winners. I'll be curious to see how much this subscription thing costs as I would be interested in doing it.

I also hope they'll let people going to SDCC PO the exclusives.

instead of a subscription...I dont understand why they just dont do a pre-order method for these (like sideshow)....and ship them out once a month...to make people pay up front for 6 figures and then the full 12 the next year, without seeing who we are getting, is kinda dumb.buy a subscription of unannounced figures? I am not crazy about POP and new adventures crap. Also, what good is it if you cant choose a quanity aswell?

I don't think that will happen but it would be awesome! Sideshow has proven time and again that this works and works well.

Yeah, and I've seen a lot of places follow suit going to SDCC the past 4 years. Matty last year was a pain and I got lucky to get a ticket from someone while standing in line for something else.

Crap...
I just realized I used ground shipping so who knows when these will arrive...

Just kidding! :D

Would be nice if they want you to commit to 12 figures to at least know who you are buying.

Agreed. No way I'd agree to pay in advance when I could be ordering a bunch of updates from the 2002 series or second tier She-Ra figures that I'd never have any intention of owning. I'm sure the rest of 2009 will be heavy hitters but who knows what 12 figures we'll see in 2010.
