I may just have to take the day off from work... I will not miss Hordak!

Hopefully my work will have a strong connection that day. I hate lunch time because that's when everyone is on the freaking internet.

I'm on all the time but WTH I work in IT, it's a given :lol

Q&A from He-Man.org These damn questions always seem to mirror or overlap questions from previous Mattel Q&As. Still some interesting tidbits I suppose.

1. Will He-Ro's sales be a way to see if some of the more obscure characters that existed only as a prototype before will be able to be made in the MOTUC line? (for example: Eldor, The Star Sisters and Glory Bird, and Mara from NA, etc.)
Technically yes, but we have always planned on brining these figures into the line in time.

2. Since we have learned there will be a chase He-Ro (with a different staff jewel color), will there also be any differences between the He-Ro figure offered at SDCC and the He-Ro figure offered on MattyCollector.com after SDCC?
Yes there will be. The different colored Spell Stones will be available both online and at the show (with Green being the most common). But there will also be an additional minor difference for the SDCC version. We will reveal more details about closer to the show.

3. Will you produce He-ro in the same quantity as the monthly figures or will it be more limited because it's a exclusive?
Yes, with the total production split between what is going to the show and what is sold online. But we are producing in total about the same amount as a current monthly figure.

4. Will the limit for exclusives be lowered from 10 when the SDCC exclusives go on sale on Matty Collector, similar to how it was done with Faker?
Yes. The exclusives will be sold online in the same quantities/limits available at the show.

5. It's been announced that the next NYCC won't be until Oct of 2010.
That means after SDCC this year, the next opportunity for an exclusive figure won't be untill SDCC rolls around again in July of 2010! Is it possible to see a He-Man.org exclusive or some other sort of exclusive/extra figure between the two SDCC shows?

We will only be doing MOTUC exclusives for large conventions. There will not be any exclusive figures for any other websites whether an etailer or a fan site for the time being.

6. With all the major faction "leaders" released thus far (He-Man, Skeletor, Hordak), does this mean that King Hiss will be coming in the near future?
Eventually. But we are planning to space out the key “leaders” a bit.

7. Exactly how far out have you planned the line thus far? For instance, do you know who's going to be the May figure in 2011?
We have the line “roughly” worked out for the next few years with enough space and flexibility to accommodate any changes such as fan requests and new characters that become available. This is done mostly for tooling so that we can accommodate when certain tools will become available, (such as when will we get to the claw’d hand, with Buzz-Off or Clawful first etc…). The May 2011 figure (unless things change, which they always do) will tentatively be The Faceless One.

8. Is the Wonder Twins bird accessory going to be used for a Zoar and/or Screeech repaint, perhaps with some extra armour and a stand?
A good possibility! Much of the same team works on DCUC and MOTUC and we are trying to be smart with our tooling. We’re not just shooting blind here!

9. It's been stated that Teela will have a variant. Will this variant be a random chase, an exclusive, or will it take a monthly action-figure slot at Matty Collector?
She will have an extra head, but there will not be a variant.

10. A number of international fans are getting figures with two right feet, wrong legs, etc. When they contact Mattel for a replacement, they are only offered refunds. These fans feel it is unfair because customers inside the USA get replacements for damaged cards while people outside the USA can't get a replacement for a messed up action-figure. Why is this?
We realize this is an inconvenience and are actively working to rectify this in the near future.

Seen that posting on their main page. It's nice that they're making a Faceless One but I still hope they are doing a Queen Marlena, Adora, and others that haven't been made. I want more old school characters first and then we can do more of the 200X series.

Arachne :rock hello friend!

I guess that Mattycollector is going to pull a Gentle Giant of sorts...If you buy a non-refundable membership (no price listed as of yet) and then you agree to buy a minimum of one figure per month (which guarntees you your 1) however, you have to buy that months figure (no matter what), also you still have the option to buy 10 if wanted...This apparently will be available May 18-22...The sorry thing about this, is that Mattel rather benefit the scalper (again) then help the collector...Pending on price of the subscription, Im paying more than $20 for the figure... :(

Got this from Toynewsinternational..

Mattel has released the following details in regards to their upcoming Masters of the Universe subscription program they will be making available on www.MattyCollector.com.

-The MOTU subscription program will be available May 18th through 22nd.

- You can purchase as many subscriptions as you want. Each subscription includes the Sept - Dec 2009 MOTUC figures

-Convention, rerelease and repaint figures are not included simply because not all fans may want the rereleases and convention figures may change in price or release date

-We will have a 2010 subscription for Jan - Dec 2010 figures in mid August with the same rules applying

-Once you purchase a subscription you are locked in (i.e. no refunds)

-Figures will continue to be revealed about three months ahead of time, so yes, if you buy a subscription you are agreeing to purchase which ever figure comes out that month even if not revealed yet

-Options will be available to be charged and have figures ship each month, or to have all figures held, shipped and be charged at the end of the year.

-Figures will also still be available to purchase each month with the standard limit of 10 (if you want more than 1 of a certain figure for example)

I'll sign up for the subscription, but I definitely want them charged and shipped every month. I'd be surprised if someone wants to have them held and shipped together at the end of the year (that's some serious waiting just for some penny pinching).

You'd be saving about $100 if you ship them together....I wouldn't exactly call that penny pinching.A bigger problem would be getting a defective figure at the end of the year when they've already run out of replacements.

Hmmm... I'm not sure I like this idea...
well maybe for this year, since we're not getting any of the POP, NA crap yet...
but next year, not to sure...
I'll give it a go, it's just 6 figures remaining and we know they are releasing Hordak, Man-At-Arms, Tri-klops and most likely Teela, so there might be only 2 other figures that haven't been announced for this year, and I'm almost sure they'll be MOTU characters.

The savings on shipping is quite a bit, but I'm not sure I want to wait that long...

I may just do the subscription and have them ship each month, then just pick extras I want on specific days. Something to think about I guess. I'm interested to know the subscription costs though, that's where the real kicker is. How much we gotta pay because Matty can't get their crap straight.

I'll probably get a subscription so I don't have the hassle of ordering one each month. I am a pretty big MOTU fan so whomever they throw at me next year, I should be happy. You never know though as this could be a way for them to throw a few stinkers (Not Stinkor!) at us.

What if, and I know I should not say it, but what if the line get canceled before all 12 figures ship out next year?

then the line is done....they are billing by the month, they are not charging by the subscription year. if the line gets cancelled, then your not obligated to buy the whole 12 figures. the choice is...have them shipped to you once a month or have them held for the entire subscription and then they will ship all at once and get billed on the last figure you buy for the shipping cost. (it sounds like they are charging you once a month, but I could be wrong, I say have them shipped monthly)

me either...I dont understand why they cant do a pre-order system to choose what figures we really want...like a 8-9 month window and then we get them 10 years later like the way Sideshow does it

Its likely we are being forced to subscribe because mattel is only making so many and if everybody subscribes, forget ordering it by itself on the 15th...there probably wont be many,if any left

All the details will be on the sign-up page when it launches, but here's how it's basically gonna work:

- From May 18th through May 22nd (five days only), come to MattyCollector.com to sign up for the 2009 service.
Every month, from September through December, you'll be guaranteed to get the figure of the month at current prices, for a total of four.

- Once you sign up, you're in for the whole period (subscriptions can't be cancelled).

- Exact figures will be announced approximately three months from each on-sale date.

- Figures can either be shipped and charged once per month as they become available, or they can be held for the year, and charged and shipped together on December 15th.

- You can sign up for as many subscriptions as you want during the five day period. No limit!

- Figures will also be available at MattyCollector.com on the 15th of each month without the subscription. So, if you want extras of some figures, you'll still have the option to buy more — but availability won't be guaranteed.
- The subscription will only be for the figure of the month, and won't include convention figures, or other special figures.
Subscriptions for the full year 2010 will be available in August 2009.

It doesn't get a whole lot easier. Sign up once and you're done… MOTU figures just show up at your door! No worrying about being logged in when a sale starts, or a figure selling out before you get one.

Again, complete details (including all the legal mumbo-jumbo) will be on the sign-up page. And remember, you can get as many as you want but subscriptions will only be available for five days, so mark your calendars for Monday, May 18th!

Why all the complaining? If you want the subscription... get it. If you don't... order the singles. It's not complicated and nobodies being forced into anything. The subscription is convenient for those who will be collecting a majority of the figures or don't like trying to fight to get a figure on the 15th of the month, or for both reasons. In my case, I'd like to collect all of them and I hate trying to order early in the day at the middle of the month, so a figure doesn't sell out.

Questions:

I want two of the same figures each month. Does that require two separate subscriptions?

And if I want a total of three of the same figure on some particular release, I can't get him from just two subscriptions unless the third is bought thought the regular log in and pray method, correct?

How much is a single subscription?

If I get two figures a month, one under each subscription, shipped to the same address, do I have to pay for shipping separately?

well there are concerns over figures being available after, to those who subscribed...meaning, the subscriptions could make it a sell out before it even goes up for sale on the 15th......so yes, if you want the figures, your being forced into a subscription....but to those who want EVERY figure sight unseen, GO FOR IT!

Mattel has already stated that there is no guarantee you'll get your figure when attempting ordering on the 15th! that says alot!!

figures are $20 each regardless of how many you buy

if your buying 2 of each, like me, both figures will be shipped together monthly from the 2 subscriptions you get.....no extra shipping charge
