So the last figures for '14 should be Eldor,Tung Lashor,Veena

my guesses to lead off '15...Angella,Dragstor and Lizardman

I got an extra Modulok, and 2 more for a friend…
I think we'll see Squeeze most likely this year than Tung Lashor…

As for those 12" Vintage figures, Toyguru said on Pixel Dan's walkthrough that they are gauging interest on them, nothing is set in stone as of yet…
If they happen, I doubt they will be on retail, most likely on Mattycollector only.

Yeah those 12" vintage figures will not be sold at retail stores if they get made. If they are $70-80 I can see myself getting He-man and Skeletor. If they are less than that I might just spring for the full 8-back. Hopefully they have a more complete prototype with cardback at SDCC.

I am very glad the add-on sub is POP so that those characters aren't in the main Club Eternia. They look like really well made figures but I just don't care for any of them other than Light Hope and maybe Entrapta.

Are these going to be TRUE reproductions of the originals? All original accessories included AND reproduction of original mini comic? That level of effort I can justify a higher price tag for.

Do you have anything to back that up or is that your opinion?
As I think they will and will actually have a wider appeal than action figures. These are almost like collector vinyl figures and I can see them being bought by those kinds of folks too.

Based purely on logistics, the only places i can see carying them at retail would be barns and knoble. Remember we don't really see teh gentle giant series at retail either.

Mattel lost all the original moulds for the vintage figures. This is why the 2001 Commemoritive figures were resculpted.

Mattel never kept much of the old art from the minicomics either so if we do get oversized ones, they will be scanned from the original.

Yes or like specialists vinyl collector stores.

The 2000-something re-releases were resculpted? That's kinda nuts for them to do that.

no,they just took the old figures and re-tooled them for production....you can easily take a figure apart and make molds for them

It's my expectation based on the fact that nothing from Matty Collector for Masters of the Universe has been offered at retail since it started up. The only crossover we saw was the TRU 2-packs and those didn't last very long. I can't really see Diamond Comics or TRU distributing something like this, but I would like to be wrong. If they are offered through Diamond you can always preorder them for a nice discount. If they're available on Matty Collecter they will be full price.

Fair enough. I just thought your post made it sound like it was a for sure thing and wanted to deflate any expectations you might have had. I had read something similar elsewhere and am a little concerned how easily misinformation can be spread. But whatever, I guess that's the internets for you. :dunno :peace

Yeah no problem. People tend to get excited and exaggerate. I'm reading a lot of negative comments on these 12" figures, all from he-man.org. I hope that doesn't dissuade Mattel from at least testing the waters with He-Man & Skeletor.

i personaly think the 12" figures will be a joke, the old figures are way out of date, making them bigger wont help.

Well I personally would love to collect a retro jumbo Masters line.

I know many negative issues have come out of the Classics line but I would hope if they commit to a small number and go pure vintage recreation, the execution could be fantastic. I collected some of the jumbo Kenners but found my interest quickly waned when I learned they were rotocast. If these are solid plastic with working features, retro packaging, all original weapons and mini comic than I would gladly commit to purchasing everyone produced!

But do they offer a club subscription for these? If they really only plan the original 8 than sell the subscription at SDCC 2014! You have my money guaranteed!

Of course, Toyguru says only the original 8 probably ... But we know how easy Faker is to produce so there's your chase/variant/convention exclusive! Gotta have Faker - one of my all time favorites from childhood!

I'd also champion seeing this line in comic shops & Barnes and Noble. I've noticed that while not in the immediate attention of today's mass buying market ... Masters of the Universe is still recognized by casual buyers. The last two years I have bought extra Classics figures for the Marine Corp Toys For Tots Drive at Christmas time and upon seeing my donation, the volunteers immediately recognized the brand and excitedly asked where I found them. Children like anything bright or strange looking so to them they're just fun toys but the adults know ... And so I have to think that if they were out on shelves there are those fans of pop culture who would immediately snatch up these jumbo retro's even if they aren't buying Classics. They'd remember ....
