They've released what, like 25 figures in 12 years? And about 5 of those on wrong scales?
Besides, TRU has only carried about 10 of those? :dunno

So first you say the MOTUC line outlasted the Transformers MP line now you say well they are around but they changed scales and have limited runs? So which is it; the line isn't around anymore or they have limited releases? Either way the emoticon is right, you obviously do not know. Blanket statements like the one you made kill your credibility because they are false. Just because you like this line better than the MP line doesn't mean it's gone. When was the last time you could buy a single He-Man figure by himself in a TRU while you could buy an MP Optimus Prime with trailer and all the fixins' in stores with their Year of the Horse release.

Actually, the MP line keeps getting better while the Classics line keeps getting worse. Eamon was right, these Filmation figures are a letdown. Since when did the cartoon characters look like cheap shiny plastic? New sculpts do not equal better ones as the paint apps were ten times better on the older figures. Just because they are based on cartoons that had very little detail doesn't mean the figures don't need details. At least with the limited releases MP is an actual collectors line. But I guess that is neither here nor there, to your uh "point," MP was around before MOTUC and will probably be around after them as well, just like the 80's line.

You can't just say stuff that is incorrect on a toy forum and not expect someone to call you out on it. You've been here almost 10 years; you should know better.

I can't speak for the Transformers MP line since I don't collect it, but what has been alluded to about MOTUC declining in quality is a fact and undeniable. I find it very sad that some of the diehardest of collectors of MOTUC wont admit this. Even after countless exhibits of evidence shown over the years. I guess some people refuse to let the facts impede on their love affair with these things.

Woah, woah!! Relax there cowboy!

Years-wise vs Qty-wise MOTUC has way much more figures than MP...
Quality-wise is a bit tricky since some Hasbro MP releases were inferior than Takara's.
Same thing with availability, having 1 or a handful of figures available at TRU means nothing if people need to buy Bumblebee or Ratchet overseas or at just certain websites.

Besides, MOTUC also had some figures at TRU...

The lines are different, quality and price are different, but the broad range of characters and creatures and vehicles MOTUC has, hasn't been paralleled by any other 80's "revamp" line...

Oh, and I love MP, I never said I liked either one better... So relax... Jeez!

Comparing MOTUC and TFMP doesnt make sense. Its not even apples and birns, its more like apples and cars. They have nothing in common.

True that!

This is very true. Star Wars is pretty much an unchallenged #1 due to its longevity and the depth of characters, vehicles, and playsets but MOTU Classics has had a better run than just about everything else in my opinion.

Well, MOTU is cooler than Transformers so who really cares. He-Man could totally beat up Optimus Prime. Totally.

:p Just kidding. Put away the flamethrowers.

You were the one who compared MOTUC to MP, I just called you out for saying things that were inaccurate. Now when was the last time you could buy a He-Man figure in a TRU by himself that wasn't paired up with say a Superman figure? Never. While at the same time you could buy not just MP figures but Prime himself. Now when it comes to releases yes MOTUC has been more prolific but if any line is a poster child for quantity vs quality it's MOTUC. Yes they have put out more figures than MP but at what cost; quality, that's what. I'd rather they took the time for R&D so we don't get abominations like Point Dread Teela or Filmation He-Man's ankles. We all know 4H can do better but still we get this hot garbage. Mattel must think the MOTU fan base are suckers to keep putting out these lackluster figures thinking that they'll keep buying them no matter what.

If you look at the MP line they have made the necessary changes to not only keep the line going but give the fans the figures they want. Mattel tries but, have you seen Filmation Trapjaw? Ouch.

I think the Filmation Trap Jaw is great.I got one with good eyes. The figure feels the same as the rest of the figures I have on my shelf.I agree,Mattel needs
to step up QC (wonky eyes etc),but the figures are still good and the Filmation figures @20 each,I am buying them.

There is a fan base (for all kinds of toys) that just knit-picks EVERYTHING.Some things need to be said about QC and how Matty rapes their customers with shipping
but I am digging this new trap Jaw whether it's an absolute identical cartoon match or not

But that's the thing, why make Filmation figures if they aren't identical to the cartoon? Now the QC would be understandable if this line was 2 or 3 years old but they are coming up on 10 years and they still have the same issues. If they still can't get this stuff under control then it's no longer an exception to the rule, it is the rule.

Mattel isn't interested in actually fixing the things that need fixing.

Reason: Because they don't have to. People keep buying it so they see no need to fix the flaws, even thought they know damn well there are tons of problems with quality, their e-commerce, etc. They simply don't care and have ZERO integrity.

... and if by some bizarre twist of fate people did vote with their wallets, Mattel would just stop making MOTUC and move on to the next scam... maybe Blackstar and/or Bravestarr, etc.

Since when is buying a figure at Toys R Us considered a plus, especially when you are paying a premium for those figures? The Transformers Masterpiece figures are $60 and up with quite a few being over $100. I'm sure Transformers fans think they are worth it, and I can't debate that, but as a MOTU fan I definitely think the $25-30 price I am paying for these current figures is worth it. These are not much more expensive than retail figures (6" at most brick and mortar stores run $20+).

Quality control is always going to be an issue with a mass produced product and Mattel has had their highs and lows, but many times people like to think the grass is greener on the other side. I don't know how many Marvel Legends figures I've had to sift through to find ones without messy paint apps or warped limbs in the package. Quality control can also be a bit relative to the price. If you are willing to pay premium prices, such as $60 for Bandai Figuarts, then you could see better QC.

Have you voted with your wallet yet? Considering how much anger and resentment you have built up towards Mattel I would have expected you to be done with MOTUC a long time ago.

Yes, I have. I no longer buy MOTUC unless there is something I may feel would make a great addition to my collection, I will wait and see how it came out through reviews and whatnot. I no longer jump into a subscription blindly because well... I learned my lesson. For example, Vultak. If he turns out to be done right... I might buy him. If he's flawed, I will pass.

Oh and, Who's angry? Surely not me. Perhaps it is you who gets angry every time someone speaks ill of your beloved Mattel? ;)

Since when is it not a bonus buying toys in a toy store?

It is not a bonus if the store marks up their prices as TRU is known for. It is also not a bonus if a hot item is hard to track down such as MP Grimlock and Starscream were for the short time they were available at TRU stores. You may need lots of time or luck or a combination of both to get what you want from a retail store.

No, I am not angry. I enjoy this line as a collector. It has its faults which I won't deny, but some of the problems people have with the figures others don't seem to be bothered by because our judgement is highly subjective. I collect other lines and they all have their problems if you look closely enough. Every toy line has its critics for the product or the company making them. It's good to keep things in perspective.

Do they now?
Where's Megatron?
Dinobots?
Insecticons?

Oh, that's right... We have Third Party Companies for that... [emoji1][emoji1][emoji1]

Kuzeh, B, you're killing me. They made Megatron. Have they made one in the new scale yet, nope but that Apollyon is pretty awesome. A figure they did make in the new scale is Grimlock. No Insecticons yet but isn't cool that we have third party companies to pick up the slack. The fact that you can purchase these third party figures, some of incredible quality, at places like Big Bad. Can third party MOTUC stuff be found at online toy stores like Big Bad? Nope. I'd welcome some third party figures for MOTUC; I mean the QC can't be any worse than Mattel's.

I love that gif of Travolta. Looks like he got high and tried to find out why Mattel made Point Dread Teela looks like a cross-dresser.

When was the last time you tried to track down a figure in a TRU? I have been trying to find the Barbie Gal Gadot Wonder Woman for the past month. I went to their website, put in my email for them to tell me when it was in stock at my preferred TRU and boom, 2 weeks later I'm picking her up from tax free Delaware with a 20% off coupon. Shopping online is very convenient but I prefer shopping at the store. A bird in the hand and all that.

Oh boy. Be careful what you say about Point Dread Teela. She's considered the greatest figure ever made by some. No joke. ;)

Yeah the original MP "Megs" is a piece of crap... So doesn't even count and yeah, cannot find it at any store in the US except with the stupid orange barrel tip...
Still no Dinobots... Have they done Devastator yet? I can't remember...

I agree in Teela, it's terrible, I bought Point Dread and flipped Teela for $80.00, Great deal!!

Since when is MP Grimlock not a Dinobot? Megatron turning into a gun kept it out of stores and the enormous Devastator they made, while not an MP release was nonetheless very impressive.
