PowerCon is almost here, anyone going?

Nope. Despite being an official MOTU artist, I have not been asked. Not that I ever expected to be of course as that would mean the organizers are nice people. Plenty of fan artists and costumisers though and you get to pay over the odds for them repaints so yay for those attending.

I already paid a hefty sum for 1x Green Granamyr, and 2x each of Camo Khan and Red Beast Man as a non-attendee. I wish they were cheaper with a larger run but these may have been characters Mattel would have never offered otherwise, so I'm happy for the chance to add them to my collection. I just hope the quality control is solid since no refunds or exchanges are being offered.

You could alway buy a ticket? [emoji6]
I mean, you weren't seriously expecting an invitation after all the smack you talk about HM.org now, do you?

Reminds me of that episode of South Park where Cartman isn't invited to Casa Bonita for Kyle's b-day... [emoji16]

I'd rather dive into a swimming pool filled with lemon juice and double-edge razor blades than go to PowerScam.

Why would you want to go? I mean you're no sell out who sells their soul out of fear of the House Barbie built. The true fans know the score and they know you're a real stand up guy who doesn't compromise. I just miss listening to Roast Gooble Dinner back when it meant something.

PowerCon is not organized by Mattel... :dunno
And it's the biggest He-Man gathering with lots of amazing artists, insiders, voice actors, creators, etc.
What's not to love?

I don't think he said it was organized by Mattel. If I'm interpreting it right, he's suggesting Val is the one who sold his soul to Mattel... and I'm inclined to partially agree, partially only because Val has no soul.

I too can't imagine why someone who is well aware of Val's shenanigans would want to partake in such a con. I mean, just a few days ago comments were made about how Val was involved with yet another act of plagiarism.

I got my Voltak notice too. Though I am not really bothered by what I think looks like the love child of the Green Goblin and The Vulture. He doesn't feel like a MOTU character. Maybe I will think differently when I have him.

Thanks man that's nice to hear. :) Well I am an official MOTU artist and vendor for Mattel. I never felt I was really that relevant before now. But with the Mattel work and other MOTU work through licensors I have been doing in recent years, I finally feel that I can have a table near the likes of Dave Wilkins and not look too much out of place. But of course in light of how I personally and any MOTU work I do is being treated by HM.org (you won't see the official She-Ra standee by me on there for instance) I didn't expect to be asked and thus really didn't think about weather I would've wanted to go. If Mattel was organising it, I probably would've been at least invited and would much more be up for going as they are a client I want to engage with them more. Seriously man, nothing beats working on new MOTU art, tis pure joy it is...if stressful.

@ Kuzeh You say you are above 'taking sides' but yet this doesn't seem to stop you saying quippy stuff that clearly shows that you have very much taken a side. If you don't want to continue piss me off, try not to remind that you are on the 'side' of the those who threat people really badly. You also have said that you don't want to talk about this stuff, so don't and ignore my posts.

Oh and in typical fashion, depite my ongoing bitching about Trap Jaw I ended up with a rather well painted one. Gun arm is still warped from many angles though.

Wish I could get more excited for the Classics line again like I was a few years ago but now, I don't know what to do. I've made up my mind to at least finish the 200x figures they have out and get the remaining vehicles but besides from that ? I really do not know.

I think the line is just winding down. The only people keeping it going are the diehards. I think most fans have had just about enough of it after 8 years. All the vintage figures have been released and now there's just a few stragglers from other factions, some remaining vehicles, etc. Then of course there's the disenchantment with the line due to quality, availability, and shipping issues. Some are upset about Mattel's poor communication because they're spoiled. They really aren't required to stay in touch with the fans, that is something Neitlich used to do because he loved the attention and because it did kinda help sales, but the new team is clearly oblivious and really doesn't give a crap. I personally think MOTUC has run it's course, but Mattel will still try and milk it for what it's worth, even though it may not look like they're trying too hard.

We still might get Snake Mountain and it sounds like more vehicles are in the works, but... Whatever. I actually like the way it is now. A few figures here and there. It's a great time to be a cherry picker.

I am in for the Filmation Core characters....I Will NOT buy any filmation POP,So they better not start putting that crap into the Filmation Sub

Collectors line I'll cherry pick.....not alot interests me there

I want Stridor,Snake Mountain and Landshark

Last I heard we are still getting Snake Mountain, Stridor and the Roton. That's still plenty for me to get excited about. But yeah a Land Shark would be sweet also. I'd like to see a Road Ripper.

You also have to think that Mattel want to keep the brand alive for the sake of the movie...that I am now guess no longer has McG attached as it's gone all quite again.
