Oh yeah, I love that GIJOE art.. it's right up there in my 80s pantheon. For some reason, I never had the any of the early figures.. I had various mid-80s figs & vehicles, right upto Serpentor, which I remember it being my last figure. My older brother usually had the better stuff, hah! We played MOTU indoors, and GIJOE outdoors. Great times!

nice sig Amanaman.:rock i never really watched the cartoon either. i got my He-man lore from the pictures on the box and in the mini-comics. don't know what drew me to he-man toys in the first place. i think i liked conan the babarian or something and He-Man reminded me of this. i just know i had the toys before the cartoon ever hit. the cartoon introduced the idea of Prince Adam. in the first mini comics, He-man was just a plainsman who was giving special armor and weapons by the goddess(sorceress).

i want my Prince adam to look like the 80's figure. i don't care if he has the same muscle body or a slimmer one. pink/maroon vest is a must. but i do want him to have a different head. he would look odd with the agressive He-Man head.

The 3 issue mini series by DC comics had Prince Adam in them before the Filmation cartoon series. Prince Adam would run into the cave of power to become He-Man (which would be a pain, unless he could always teleport to the cave). In other books, Adam would strike the Sword of Power against stone (similar to Thor) to become He-Man. In those stories, Prince Adam was a big womanizer and more of a goof off.

Thanks Khev.. you really get it, too! There's something raw and organic about the box art, unlike anything else out there.

Check out this site, you'll find all the box art here:

Wow, I had no idea how much stuff was out there for He-Man and I'd forgotten about some of the stuff I had or my friend had. That was a good stroll down memory lane.

I guess He-Man was also big in Spanish speaking countries too. I didn't know he was international, but it seemed more of these were in Spanish than in English.

I finally got my custom posters in. These things look sweet. The mini-comic poster is composed of two sets. The last comic in the second poster is made up from all the minis so that it is mini-mini comics. :rotfl

These are printed on Kodak metallic paper and is super hard to photograph. I resized and photoshopped most wear damage out of all the comics. I added shadows to each comic and background color that changes from top left towards bottom right. When the light hits it it has a metallic look. Here are a few pics of the mini comic posters. I will post some pics of the other classic posters I got done when time permits. :banana

Can I ask how much this cost you? Awesome work btw.

The 20 by 30 mini comic posters cost me 20.00 each. It is hard to find a great printer service with nice paper that will forego copyrights. It is kinda in the grey for me, as these are not in print anymore.

I was so excited about these that I went out and got a couple frames. Framed pics coming up, it is impossible for my cheap camera to capture how awesome these look in person. I included another pic screwing around with shudder speed, and my dog ran in front, Ghost dog!:lol

Awesome display of the mini comics PZ. I had them all when I was a kid, but they've all probably been in a land fill for many years now.

This monday, right? I was thinking about taking the morning off and not even stressing trying to do it at work.

Yep, this coming Monday is Hordak. Don't feel bad, Mesa. I have class on Monday right at noon so i'll be doing the old Wifi iPHone and hoping I can get through.
