interesting from the org-

Okay, so I for sure thought someone else would have overheard this at Power Con, but I suppose I'll be the one to post.

On Sunday afternoon I saw Brandon talking to Toyguru on the floor. They gave a quick hug hello and chatted a bit about what was going on. (he seemed very curious!). It was too good of an opportunity, and I know it is "wrong" but I sat down near them and evesdropped.

Brandon confirmed to TG that 2016 is indeed the last year for everything. There was originally a SDCC MOTU fig. Filmation style Prince Adam with laughing Meme face (not sure what that means). But it was canceled.

Brandon said there is one final T-Cats item coming for SDCC (ironically I suppose the first figure in the line), but after that MOTUC, HMATMOTU, T-Cats Classic and else will wrap up at the end of 2016. At SDCC they will have a Fan panel to show off a DC doll to distract fans from the bad news. Beyond that, enjoy what is left of 2016.

This is 100% hearsay from overhearing Brandon talking to TG. But if anyone would know I suppose it would be Brandon.

Sorry not better news!

just saw the post at the .org. Oh well, I guess if mattel longer wants my money, there are plenty of other companies putting out 80s properties that do. but it's crazy that all subs have always sold well, and they just acquired the Tcats license, why would they end everything??? maybe NECA can get us some Tcats, or better yet DCC is a subsidiary of WB which owns Thundercats, one can dream

my disappointment is not continuing Filmation and Thundercats. Why even bother making TC without making the whole team?

and of course the awesome Snake Mountain that will never be (even Toyguru said it's not happening)

Even if the line ends 2016, we may be lucky and get a few things such as Roton as an exclusive over the comming years. If not, so be it. We had a great run that has lasted almost 10 years. I sure would love to add all the missing NA characters, a few Mini Comic characters and even a few more "exotic" characters, but if the line is really done, I will not complain. One thing however I have to admit: I have never been a hughe supporter of TG, but he seems to have been more important for the line than I thought. Well done TG!
The incomplete TC line however does hurt.

Finally, one thing one should not forget: if the line ends, I can see all those custom guys having a great time creating missing parts for us. Already looking forward to that!

Lol!! That post sounds like a bunch of made up baloney!! [emoji38]
I do think the line might end this year, but I think TC will depend on the success of the SDCC Exclusive...

The writing is on the wall (and has been)...Even Toyguru has been hinting at it without him even working there by knowing how things are run there and from his recent interview, kiss snake mountain goodbye and likely the rest of it

If the Thundercats line depended on anything it should be the subscription sales and according to Mattel it sold very well. If this conversation is accurate this probably has more to do with Mattel closing up shop at Matty than the performance of any of the lines from it.

Well if they announce the end of ThunderCats (huge disappointment), then i see a lot of credit cards "getting lost." Whats the point if we won't even get a full team.

With all of the rumors going around it wouldn't be surprising if they are closing up everything.

It will be really unfortunate though if we can't get at least another 6 or so Thundercats figures and Stridor.

Yes Stridor would be a huge loss to me. He should have come before Night Stalker anyways. I'm going to need to hire a professional to repaint one for me.

That is actually a good idea...buy a Night Stalker and just repaint the thing

That is really the only reason I can think of.

Also Mezco was talking about Thundercats One:12 in the recent Hottoycast (did anybody not check out it yet?). Sonds like they were waiting what Mattel is comming up with. It kind of sounded like he knows something about Mattels future plans. However if we are really getting TC One:12 I can live with an incomplete line by Mattel. Might even skip Willy Kit/Kat in that case and get them later for cheap.

Speaking to Pop Mahn, I made the suggestion they go back to basics with the comic and just give us good, simple but kick ass stories. What happened if Mekaneck is corners by Lawful and Whiplash, He-Man and trilops have a 10 day long duel, stuff like that.

I guess there was not any mention of the movie what with no one official being there?

Maybe they were never supposed to say anything about Snake Mountain to begin with. They only work for Mattel and cannot be speaking for them. It's as simple as that.
As for why no one bothered to ask "any real questions", who knows, ask the attendees. And who would they ask anyways aside from 4HM?

I think the days of any real interaction with Mattel on MOTU is at an end. Folks were abussive to Scott and then his replacement Kimberly who walked shortly after. Who would want that gig in fairness with all that abuse? Small collector toy line with demanding and abussive fanbase is a not a job for many I should think.

Yep. It has nothing to do with asking "the right questions". They can't say anything about the future of the line. Saying they finished sculpting work is world (the snake mt comment) away from disclosing the future plans of the line. It's just not gonna happen till Mattel allows the news to be out.

As for the abuse that the reps got. That's spot on. And it's not just Mattel that's changing things up. Most of the adult collectible companies are pulling back on the direct fan interactions and even q&a stuff. The positive they get out of it is far out weighed with the grief and heaven forbid something they say changes. People freak the F out.

So what figures/prototypes have we seen so far for MOTUC, HATMOTU and Thundertcats?

Darius, General Sunder, Roton, Night Stalker and Snake Mountain is all I can think of from MOTUC.
Merman, Evil Lyn is all I have seen from HATMOTU.
Lion-O, Pantro, MummRa and Jackleman are all I have seen of TC.

Am I missing something here?

If that is the case then i think Thundercats ending this year would be the biggest issue for me as we not getting the core gang. HATMOTU just needs Triklops and I'd be ok with that ending too.
If MOTUC ends then that's ok as we have had a hell of a long run with a mighty collection of finely made figures and stuff. We can get two Night Stalkers if they don't make a stridor but of they were smart, then they should get a Stridor out fast as it's easy money and we would buy it.

For me there's Mythic Legions, Boss Fight and Mezco One:12 to worry about. I am sure there are other lines for others like Star Wars Black and Hot Toys.

I dunno about you guys but I have no more room for stuff.

Well, the Matty forums just got updated... This got me thinking that maybe, the reason to all this mess is a Matty revamp?
FILMATION Skeletor is delayed a bit as well...
I don't know... I'll just wait an see what happens... Won't worry anymore...
