Matt Damon is a hypocritical ass hat.
He publicly announced his support for Obama in 2005 when he'd (Obama) only been in the senate for a year. Yet he derides Palins lack of experience.
He goes on to say how frightening her faith is, but he and his like minded ilk worship at the altar of secular humanism which has all the hallmarks of a religion.
They have no problem force feeding everyones kids that crap now do they, and its all funded by joe taxpayer.
The truth is the left is panicked by Palins popularity and they dont know how to counter it.
Theyre starting to go into meltdown mode as the polls continue to go McCains direction. Theyre throwing mud at her to see what sticks.
Id rather have a hockey mom and a war hero face down Putin then 2 lawyers.

SO you don't think it's fair to the millions of Christians in this country that they don't get a fair shake on how life came to be?

Science isn't about fair. It's about fact. If half the country wanted to teach that cars were powered by leprechaun farts we wouldn't put that in a science class either.

There's a reason most religious people around the world look at ID Christians out of the corner of their eyes and step away slowly. The idea that God didn't use evolution as a tool is pretty much an American fundamentalist thing.

But that is what having faith is for. Dealing with such situations.

I agree completely, but does that mean that public mocking of non-secular teachings should be encouraged? Some teachers, when the subject is broached, are respectful, and acknowledge that what they teach is theory. Others, on the other hand, display no such tolerance for differing opinions.

Obama had been a state senator for years by that point.

Such as?

Facts are facts.

She'll self-destruct as soon as she overcomes her cowardice of the press.

Like I said, everything there applies to Obama, another inexperienced tool that I am terrified of if he's elected. The difference however is he is running at the top of the ticket, Palin is at the bottom.

As for the religion thing, who the hell cares? Why are we in this society today where we shun and mock people with faith in the Bible, who cares?

I care, she is an extremist nut who wants to teach kids ridiculous fairy tales instead of science.

You really disappoint me, pix. :(

Sorry but I think thats a load of bull. Teach it in your home. Teach it in your church, not in your school. If a kid is being a self righteous prick in school trying to cause a disturbance while a teacher is trying to teach he deserves to get put in detention.

Sorry I disappoint but thats how I feel and I am 100% that many of the brethren in the Q of the 12 agree with me judging from conversation my good buddy's family has with them. :peace

Just how seriously should a science teacher take a "differing opinion" that the earth is flat?

You are debating a non issue. There is no sanction of "public mocking" in public schools. That is disrespectful but its not an excuse to legislate Creationism into a federally funded school.

POP-E-^^^^ yo.

Right, because every kid who has a question is trying to cause a disturbance.

Lets start teaching about LDS view of ancient American history too in public schools. That would go over really well.

This scenario is all very localized. Are you saying that scientists or science teachers cannot believe in creation? How should a teacher respond if a student wanted to talk about American History during an Algebra class?

You inferred in everyone of your posts that public schools should teach Creationism as an alternative so little Johnny doesn't get mocked for repeating in class what he learned at church.

(my heaven's Robobad. Our church doesn't even believe in Creationism per se).

No, I never inferred any such thing. I inferred that if Johnny asks a genuine question, it should be treated with respect, whether Johnny be a Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, or [insert religious belief here]. Having put three children through public schools, and having a home teaching companion who is going through it right now, I can say with some confidence that that isn't the case today.
