AT FREAKIN LAST!!! WAVE 13 IS COMPLETE!! Now to start stalking the dreaded WM wave 14.

OK gang. Rex Mason (whom some of you might be aquainted with), claims to have spoken with Toy Guru about the Animal Skin Cheetah controversy that brewing on many DCUC boards. The following was lifted from Mason's post from the Matty forum boards:

I asked Toyguru this question over on the Ask Matty forum, and this is what he said:

"The vintage Cheetah and the black pants/tank top Cheetah will be in the Mattycollector.com set. The all fur version was apparently accidently shipped to a few online sellers. This was in error. The all fur version is coming, but not in the wave 13 set.

SO......who believes TG is telling the truth? & who thinks he is once again jerking our collective chains? If this statment is lagit, then that means that "naked Cheetah" was INDEED A MISTAKE! But it beggs to question just what the hell did dude mean by "The all fur version is coming, but not in the wave 13 set"??? Dose this mean Naked Cheetah was ment to be released in a different wave?.......HELL NO! Waves 14-15-&16 are all spoken for.

So this would seem to suggest that TG is once again doing the dirty work of his master by lieing his ass off! That entire quote has the stink of damage control all over it. It is my opinion that one of the two has happened:

(1) some soccer mom (or worse womens lib group) did indeed get their collective panties in a twist over what could be seen as a nude female figure that might warp the minds of all the poor pre puberty boys & entice them to objectify women. Personally I think that is

(2) Mattel made a deliberate willful "running change" (as they like to call it). Personally I'd believe this option over the 1st, but considering how easy American suberbannites get all over a bunch of nothing I still wouldn't count out the 1st explanation. Think about it for a second.......it has been a while since a major chase figure has been the center of DC message boards. What better way to shake up all the collectors that have been waining & thinking about dropping the line.

What better way to make all the cry babies shut the hell up about one tiny lil thing not being right & turn them in to grateful minions that obey the word of their dark master.......MATTEL :emperor

Well what ever the story is, I'm happy either way! I got all 3 Cheetahs.

I'm thinking they produced the 'naked' Cheetah with the intent of her being an All-Star along with Joker and Deathstroke. Maybe they're gearing up for an all-villain All-Star assortment?

I still think their intention is to sell it at SDCC and make any left overs available on MC.com.

Once again, as I understand it, CSC sent the naked cheetahs back to Mattel and requested the correct paint scheme. They subsequently got sent another box of all naked cheetahs. Not wanting to deal with the hassle of sending the box back a second time, they just asked if the guys who were waiting for their orders wanted the naked one instead of the track suit version. They sold off the left overs. In addition, Amazon apparently also ended up with some as well.

So obviously they have produced them in some quantity. I doubt its an all-star fig cause the packaging isn't AS packaging...possibly a "Best Of" case for a specific retailer/etailer...idk

My hunch is it will be available for sale at SDCC to help hype their sales. I'm sure the etailers will be buying em up like hot cakes to sell to all the international guys and folks who didn't make it to SDCC.

I wouldn't trust Toy Guru. Not anymore at least. He/Matty have told us a running change of white face Harley and All Gold Dr. Fate were coming, but they never did. I only trust what I actually end up seeing. I no longer trust what Mattel tells us. Plus its always are fault when things fail/don't go as planned.

And isn't Rex Mason an infamous scam artist?

There's plenty of reason not to believe a word out of their mouths.

This is the FIRST TIME they've EVER shown a fig in the DCUC line, changed it in production and promised to bring out the one shown in pre-production, and they actually produced the pre-production version.

So in this case, they will be releasing it. When, how and how many is the real question.

Matt Mason was the scammer, although I know he used multiple names. . I got hit during the wave 5 fiasco. Luckily my credit card covered my loss.

Ah, yes. Matt Mason. Rex Mason is Metamorpho isn't he?

I knew it was some Mason! Lucikly I've never encountered him myself, but I've heard the horror stories.

I've come to the point with Mattel that I'll believe it when I see it. So until someone finds one of their so-called promises in the store, I don't believe them anymore. And after how they've butchered what could have been an awesome Green Lantern 5 pack, they've lost even more of my respect. I've gone from a near-completist this year to a cherry picker. Classic Cheetah is the only one from wave 13 I want, and I haven't even found this wave at retail yet, but luckily 11 is peg warming right now at wal-mart so I'm not too worried yet.

I'm the same way. I was getting nearly every figure, now hardly anything. My major wants are golden age characters. So wave 14 is gonna suck for me. lol 2 JSA members in an exclusive wave is bad planning on Mattel's part. I didn't get any figures from wave 13. And I only bought wave 11 figures was to get Kilowog just because he's too awesome to pass up.

I'm with buttmunch on this one. Mattel is a lieing sack of crap! Nude Cheetah will never see the light of production day again. what ever etailer has them.....has them. This fig is not gonna be released in an all star wave. I mean since when do they make extreme changes to figs for the all star release?? correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the main purpose of the all star line to offer a 2nd chance to fans to score a fig that they may have missed out on?

AAAND in other DCUC news, I guess tomorrw is the big day for many of you guys who never got wave......& of course a few who did, but will be jockying for a chance to buy a set.

& then the market will be briefly flooded with faker wave 5's.

I'm hoping to sneak my set at noon tomorrow while at work. Fingers crossed...

The Fwoosh and tni have packaged pics of wave 14... I'm excited but I fear for the warped limb epidemic that plagued wave 13. It's not a huge deal, but it's a big pain in the ass to heat-reshape-cool parts because their quality control is so friggin' awful.

But anyway... bring 'em on!!!!

I don't think the naked cheetah was ever intended for normal retail distribution...SDCC or some type of store exclusive is my guess and I'm sticking to it

Got Wave 5. I hate Digital River. I hate that entire site. That whole ordering process made me drop the MotU Classics line. thank goodness I don't have to deal with them often. Good luck to everyone who wants it.
