Hey Brian! Er... Steel, good luck and may the Good QC gods shine upon you! And Karamazov, I think it's all a matter of how you look at it. I feel getting six or seven of these (plus a build-a-figure) for $100-$120 pre-shipping is better than one figure, no matter how cool, for $200.

Yeah, the jump seems to be similar to what we're seeing with Hot Toys and Sideshow, whose prices also keep creeping up and up.

Having said that, it is still easier for me to say that a Hot Toys figure is worth $200 than to say that one of these is worth $20.

Yeah, even though HT prices have gone up, so has their quality. DCUC has only gone up in price. We are only now seeing more articulation, and its only with select figures. So it seems like these are going up in price just because. And not because they are getting better. :dunno

$18 a figure. This line is going to start hurting soon. I might have to go the route that IC took with several waves and go find some ebay deals.

$18? Do parents buy these for kids anymore or is it just collectors? I have a feeling these could go the way of the MOTU figures soon and just sell online.

I wonder if this will affect the Legion 12 pack price or if Mattel will honor their word last year.

If I were seriously collecting these (I'm not), then online would be preferable to me. Just sign up for the subscription and you're done. If you could accept their ridiculously high prices to start with, then it doesn't seem like much of a stretch to exchange the shipping price for the hassle of driving around town looking for the damn things.

I wonder if they would space out the releases or do them waves at a time, though. . .probably not going to happen though, as DCUC seems pretty dang popular as it is.

The price hike wouldn't hurt nearly as bad if they switched to subscription and improved the QC. But I agree that they seem to be pretty popular and I doubt it'll happen. DC's heroes have far more recognizeability for a mass market line.

This definitely has me concerned for the Legion set with all the QC nonsense. Hope they have the set assembled at a different factory or something.

On a lighter note, BBTS sent me an e-mail stating they're replacing my Creeper free of charge and that it isn't worth their cost to bother shipping back the broken one! So any customizers... I have a decapitated Creeper for fodder.

It takes alot of searching and patience but deals can be had. BUT if you're looking for a sure thing then Preordering from an AD is the way to go.

It's just collectors. Parents will just as soon buy JLU figures.

God I hope not.

I honestly don't see a need for a MOTUC-like subscription yet. These characters are just too popular to be restricted to online only sales. Just preorder your waves from your favorite AD and you don't have to all over town looking for these. While Ebay has been a good resource for getting older waves, I have preordered waves 15-18 and wave 2 of GLUC.

Congrats on your Creeper Swift, my wave 16 arrives on Valentines day :yess:

Just an FYI, the DCUC vs MotUC are on sale for $20 this week! Thats less than one of those MotUC figures from Matty shipped! I even found the new Aquaman/Hawkman sets. Score! Finally a deal!

Now just to get rid of those MotUC figures! :lol

but as long as they don't get into the MOTUC range, I'm in for the long haul too I think.

I'd say they're pretty much there if others follow suit at $17.99, since MOTU's are $20.00 before shipping.

I picked up Robin yesterday at Target. Oddly enough, he's one of the more sturdy DCUC's I've bought in a while. They had everyone but Azbats, which sucked since that was the one I wanted most next to Robin.

I agree. However, if I were a serious collector, and if I had my druthers, I would prefer to go online via Matty. You can get most of them via eBay and other retailers as-is, but there are store exclusive waves (like the Alan Scott and Joker waves) that preclude even that for awhile--not available at places like CSC/BBTS, and eBay prices take a month or two to settle down.

Word on the street is that we are going to be getting a Batman Classics line from Mattel like GLC! Plus they are doing Arkham City figures and have announced Nightwing and Riddler figures too boot! That means they're both in the game. Plus more TDK figures. GORDON and Ra's!The news sounds too good to be true though, but who knows? :dunno

This is such great news!! Best I've heard all week!! Really looking forward to Toy Fair coverage!!

I feel a little dirty tonight. I broke down and purchased Black Hand and BL Abin Sur from TRU at the 18$ price. This wave is getting harder to find online and prices on Ebay have gotten into the "wave 11" price range so I figured that even if I did get them online, after shipping they would be around 20$ anyway. Now I just need the elusive Kyle, Mongul and the Manhunter which I'm not too worried about cause there's a total of 6 now pegwarming TRU.

Yeah, the Manhunter really backfired. Was the height issue really that big of a deal? Usually packing the army builders 2 per case is a great idea (its working for Low/Maash at least). But I guess not this time around. Kyle should have been the other 2 per case I guess in this wave. Oh well, I ordered my set online ages ago. If I can help it, I avoid hunting for these at retail anymore. So I really hate the retail exclusives. TRU isn't bad, but I dread Walmart waves.
