nice collection. needs more batman stuff. I like the gentleman ghost

My GF loves the Gentleman Ghost too. The stock photos had him in pure white and I like the actual production change myself. The transition from white to the translucent look gives him that extra something special.

Nice DC collection samuel.

Thanks, I'm actually going to post a pic of my Build-a-figures too soon. The waves just seem to be coming out so fast and having more releases, that my DCUC collection keeps growing.

This is to me the best figs to be released in this scale since Marvel Legends...and finally its with the DC characters!

Glad to say that the Super Powers line finally has a rightful heir cause DCD wasn't really doing the DC characters justice imho.

I've got to agree. I like some of the DCD sculpts better, but the lack of uniformity, the lack of articulation, and the brittle nature of the hard rubber/plastic/whatever just didn't do it for me.

I, too, feel that these are a great update of the Super Powers line that I loved so much as a kid.

You can see the heavy influence from that line with the Red Parademon and the upcoming Joker (epsecially the accessories).

For all the above mentioned reasons, I promptly stopped buying DCD as soon as this Mattel line showed it had legs to go the distance.

And from the recent offerings, it looks like they will be going the distance deep into the cataloges of the DC Universe characters.:banana

I only have the first 2 waves, I had stopped collecting them for awhile
due to the fact that they were hard to come by, and the fact that I
was to focus on MOTUC and 1/6 collecting, so when I bought the Vigilante
figure yesterday it rekindled my waning passion so I ended up buying
5 more Classic figs off ebay. After seeing your pics I believe I'm going to continue
on with this line.

Thats exactly what I did when I discovered that Mattel had acquired the
rights to other characters. I enjoyed the fact that it was going to be a
more uniformed line, unlike DCD, which I was gradually loosing interest
in.

Yeah...DCD is great if you are interested in seeing a certain artist's style realized in plastic...but only for that style cause mixing their different offerings is like having a comic with a different artist rendering every page...just kinda looks weird.

About the only thing DCD could pull out their asses for me to buy would be Mike Mignola renderings based off of Cosmic Odysey...other than that, I'm done.

anyone see how much wave 5 is selling for nowadays?

Anybody who'd pay those prices is insane? You can customize your own for much, much less. I thought Wave 5 was the worst of the Waves, so I avoided it completely.

:lol:lol I hear ya. I still hoping for Mattel to eventually do an AzBat.

If its the weakest why is it one of the highest? I haven't seen a
figure from that wave I can get for a decent price.

Most folks agree it's the weakest. The reason the prices are the highest is... the Wave is the most limited release. This Wave was only available in Wal-Mart as an Exclusive.

It is the weakest but the Black Lightning, the Amazo and the BAF Metallo were great figures. The problem is lots of figs from that line were defective and it was not a Wal-Mart exclusive...it was an Wal-Mart exclusive promotional item:banghead

These things were never intented to be sold at all wally's. They were only sold at certain stores to kick-off Walmart's "buy-in" to this line. A sort of Mattel sacrifice to its retail master:google

So that's why this line was almost impossible to find and such a sought after item now.

Man I wish I would have bought an extra set from my buddy:banghead:banghead:banghead

Oh, I see. Thats a wave I actually enjoy, hopefully I'll be able to
eventually find them all at a good price.

I hope you will too. Mattel stance is they will not re-release these at all. But there was a time that Hasbro wouldn't re-release their wally exclusives either but they eventually did. So here's hoping they show up in two packs or as All-Star figures somewhere.
