Lee and I were running though last years SDCC Mattel reveals and if last years SDCC formula holds true, we'll see finished Ser. 9, most of 10, and possibly all of 11 and 12 in some form of 2-up or photos with sneak pics of 13.
Any thoughts

I would be disapointed if we didn't at least see that. We should also see the 5 pack (which I think is the legion of doom).

In some form or another, but not totally. I can think of:

Green and Purple outfit Lex Luthor
Cheetah
Riddler (tights)
Sinestro (height fixed)
Toyman (unlikely since in Fans' choice poll)
Scarecrow (more cartoon design)
Gorilla Grodd (brown?, no headset)

Yeah, some would be variants, but new figures like Cheetah would insure sales anyway.

Of course it could just be something dumb like repacks of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and the Flash.

Been quiet here. How'd everyone like the SDCC Mattel offerings? Same number of reveals by line as last year with a few additions for the 5 pack (very cool) and the 2paks to round the year out (SUPER COOL!! - Animal Instincts is so GD sweet and the Sin Corps 2pak...nice). Gotta say Chemo is one bad looking Mofo! Oh, I almost forgot, they did show a bonus line, the Public Enemies line! Cant believe they are gonna go for 3 additional lines this year - 9, 10, 11, and PE.
I wonder if Mattel would give any thought to doing the PE line with alternate heads, so you'd have a head that is as detailed as the rest of the set? That would surely rock the house!
Long Live DCUC!

probably never. it's part of the next Walmart exclusive wave...i mean they will release it, but it will be impossible to find.

Well, for what its worth, Mattel has promised that the distribution and availability will be MUCH improved from last year's WM wave.

Apparently, fan demand and the success of the line has WM totally on board. Who knows if it will be available at more stores or on WM online, but they supposedly have "vastly" increased their order amount...I guess the five pack is sort of proof of that being their 3rd exclusive.

All the stuff they showed for DCUC was hot and this is definately the hottest 6" scale figure line in the aisles.

I'll believe it when I see it. My local Walmart doesn't even have spot for DCUC anymore. I'm still calling BS until our walmarts have to clearence wave 10 that they are "totally on board." Same goes for the 5 pack. But at least with that, if you find the set, you found everything you need. The wave 10 wave will be much harder to get a full set. But at least the Joker should be easier to find. I can't imagine them not making him the heavily packed figure. They did it with Riddler afterall, which I thought was a good move.

Grain of salt...that's how i take everything from Mattel and WM...the walmarts near me have never stocked passed wave 6, they never stocked wave 5...the one in town just raised the price to 12.99 on the old stock that's been just sitting for months...I can't find the rest of wave 8 anywhere...so until i actually see a change in the patterns of both of these companies..i won''t trust a word they say.

Well, soon the price will be raised to $14.99 everywhere. Apparently Mattel thinks they can charge a few bucks more because bread and milk cost more now*

*their response on the price hike at the Matty panel @ SDCC

is that really what they said?

that's absurd, I am starting to hate Mattel.

Well, there will be more to be said when the "back to school" and "Xmas" planograms are released. At no point am I (or Lee) apologist for Matty. Their track record says it all, along with a $120 ebay hit for Wave 5. :google
Problem is that all of WMs exclusives are vey limited and HTF. It's thier stupid business model, but it insures complete sell thru. Matty's the one bending over and letting them carry the produce when they want with no commitment for the year. We went through this with Hasbro SW, Toybiz ML, and now Mattel DCUC. See a pattern????:banghead

Other than the crappy exclusive, what say you guys about the product? Awesome 2paks and 2 lines outside of Wallys! That's gotta rock.
