It doesn't, I don't think. The online exclusives probably sell better, because they don't have anything available in brick and mortars (until the recent 2 packs), and because the characters released are, for the most part, more essential. The DCUC online exclusive 2-packs are usually lame or easy to pass up (Alexander Luthor, Starfire, some wacky Green Lantern enemies). The more important characters will get released at Target, Wal-Mart, etc.

That wave 5 isn't going to last long online. I'll probably try to get one myself just for Atom.

Indeed, Professor Palmer and J'onn J'onnz are the only two heavies I need to complete the core, classic Justice League, especially since after the 'heavy seven' of Supes, Bats, WW, Aquaman, GL, Flash, and Manhunter, Atom was the eighth member to join.

I need to "buddy up" with some others on this, all I want is the Atom and Amazo.:D

I'll split with you, I've got no intrest in those two, all i want is riddler, Eradicator and mettalo.

and i guess Black lighting... i did used to read the outsiders....

I'm in for the Black Lightning if you guys want the other 4...I don't even need the Mettalo piece..lmk

how MOTU outsells DCU still baffles me though :confused:

Two Words: Market Saturation...

still waiting for mr? to get back to me and let me know if he just wants those tow, or if he wants their BAF parts as well. I missed this ENTIRE line, i just want Eradicator, and Riddler, and The metallo parts. If nothing else, ill be happy to swing BL your way.

Oh, and a note for DCUC fans. Yes we are bringing back Wave 5! This is a big test to see how older product does. We'd love to bring back other older hard to find product but it is 100% based on how this wave performs. Like with all Mattycollector.com product, you vote with your purchase. We can't make toys for just one or two or even one hundred fans. It takes a certain guaranteed base line to keep online toy lines going (much like MOTUC has achieved). So if you want it, spread the word! We'll keep doing all we can to get all of the holes in everyone's collection filled in as long as the market will support!

As long as they keep this style of transaction limited to past waves, I am okay with it. It should keep the panic of not getting figures and profits from scalpers and it will allow late comers get into the line. It is really weird and completely different how they treat us compared to MOTU. It's like two different company entities with completely opposite goals.

I certainly dont think DCUC fans are treated better. It's no secret that Scott (ToyGuru) is in L O V E with MOTU and they were his childhood favorites (he's said so in an interview on Fwoosh) and it would seem that about 90% of his post on Matty.com forums are for MOTU. So, with that, there are some weird things about how they sell product to the MOTU fans, but he's always less than two days away with reassuring those fans that their sold out figures will be back in production with a date or proposed quarter. DCUC fans get to sit and wait.
BUT, at least this is a step in the right direction. Cant say I appreciate the "It takes a certain guaranteed base line..." load of garbage. Many, many collectors of DCUC dropped this line long ago when the wave 5 fiasco first started, so trying to shift blame for poor sales right out the gate is wrong. Mattel is a huge multinational company. If they cant figure out how to sell their product, that's ENTIRELY their fault.

True point about the wave 5 incident but I figured that was more a Walmart mistake. I wasn't too frazzled by it since I switched to online retailers to assure I get my waves but the wave 9 fiasco did almost make me think otherwise except there were already a lot of great figures and more promising characters to come.

As for Scott's love of MOTUC figures, I know he gets his figures for his collection without a hitch. I would love for him to try and get his figures through the mattel site without that subscription and see what happens.:banghead

Well.. I got sucked in. The Kilowog wave was at my K-Mart and I just need two more to complete him. Then it's off to hunt down the rest of the major characters (Batman, Rouges Gallery, Supes and Crew, Latern Corps, etc)

Sorry about the wait....I can live with just the Atom and Amazo. How would we split costs?

No problem there are 6 figures in the set, counting the BAF, right?

Eradicator
Black Lighting
Metallo
Riddler
Atom
Amazo

Yes? Figure total cost, divide by 6. You pay for whatever two of them would be plus shipping to you. ( I'll eat the original shipping cost)

or, if you want, We could simply do a trade for the two if them, might be easier.

Lee in MI, same deal on black lighting.

Would that work?

So that would be aprox. $12.50 per fig + shipping, right? That would be cool by me. Just pop the Metallo CnC piece out and send me the fig.

LET'S DO IT!!!!!!

I would just suggest nobody send money until the set is ordered. If this is like anything else they've put up lately, it won't be a stroll in the park to even get one.

I agree, let me get them in hand first. I brave mattys site every month for the MOTUC figures, I'll just add one to my cart that month, but for now, wait till I gots it in hand.

And TBQH, i… would allmost rather trade than do cash. Never received money through paypal before, not sure how that works.

You guys really think there'll be a run on the bank with these? If so, how will the trade/all in work? Might want to hedge the bets and everyone try for a set? I dont know, it might get sticky.
On the other hand, it could be like Wave 12 and be sitting around days later, in which case, no problem at all.
Just my 2cents since Lee and I share a collection.

I guess we'll have to see. I hope to get one for me and one for my friend. I think of all the DCUC line only the wonder twins sold out in the same day and they actually had it back up for sale the next week, if I recall correctly.
