I was thinking the same thing. I'm glad I got them when they were released, though.

Good news on one level, but sucks for those who went through lots of hassle/money to pick them up previously. Matty's tendency to re-release hard to find figures probably alienates some collectors (like the guys who would buy statues just because they have a low edition size). Not that I care about any of that, though.

I'm just glad that Mattel treats their DCUC customers with a little more respect than the way they treat their MOTU customers. Yeesh!! That was a headache and aggravation I didn't need while on that boat trip.
The report did say that it will be exactly the same as it was originally released.

Glad to hear Mattel is re-releasing this wave. Sucks for speculators and scalpers but pure win for me and anyone else who did not find them the first time around or got into the line late. I do hope though that the order process does not turn out to be a cluster____ like the MOTU pre-orders.

I wish I could buy a couple of the individual figures as a couple of mine have imperfections and I'd like to replace them, but you'll have to buy the whole set.

Oh, I'm sure it will be. I also think they will sell out in 10 minutes or so like MotUC. So prices on these really might not come down too much after they are released. Down now sure, but they'll probably spike back up in price when they re-sell out again quickly.

And supposedly these are going to be straight re-releases with no changes. So I guess we can expect crappy plastic and breakage issues huh?

The real test of that will be Eradicator's goggles and Amazo's darker green undies.

This is awesome news. Even though I snagged a loose Riddler with the Metallo part, I'll gladly pick up a set now. And allegedly two days before these go on sale we'll know the official lineup of wave 15 as well. Way to go Matty, now if they can avoid the craziness that usually ensues on their website then this is a huge step in the right direction for them.

Since Mattel has been pushing their DC's 75 anniversary why would they package this in their original state with no changes whatsoever? Mattel usually plays to the collector by changing paint or packaging like they did on their He-man re-issues.

I really hope not, but it wouldn't surprise me. I want to say that it would be cheaper to just put them back into production with the old packaging?

that's a good point. Hadn't thought about that. If this is true then you know they have piles of wave 8-11 sitting somewhere too. Here's a message Matty just posted tonight on Facebook

Oh, and a note for DCUC fans. Yes we are bringing back Wave 5! This is a big test to see how older product does. We'd love to bring back other older hard to find product but it is 100% based on how this wave performs. Like with all Mattycollector.com product, you vote with your purchase. We can't make toys for just one or two or even one hundred fans. It takes a certain guaranteed base line to keep online toy lines going (much like MOTUC has achieved). So if you want it, spread the word! We'll keep doing all we can to get all of the holes in everyone's collection filled in as long as the market will support!

So there you go, buy you're weight in these guys! how MOTU outsells DCU still baffles me though
