Thast was cool. Never seen it before, thanks for psoting it Josh. Is it based on an EU story?? And what the hell was Obi doing hiding in the dirt?

Yeah, it's based on a short comic which is EU obvisously.

Maul gets put back together ala Greivous or Vader and tracks Obi-Wan down. Obi-Wan sensed something and was hiding waiting for Maul.

Oh thats wierd...Me & Josh post @ 9:33 & Josh & Josh post @ 9:38.....

Thanks for the info Josh & Josh.

It's a josh thing. That book is pretty cool. I bought it over the summer and enjoyed reading it.

That was cool. They really should have kept Maul around. Dooku could have almost been the Ventress role or Maul's "Apprentice" that he and Palp would have just used and betrayed in the end (again). Or Maul could have replaced Grevious in RotS. Either way Maul was killed off WAY to quickly.

I agree. Maul would have gone down as the best SW characters ever for sure if he had been let to live and fought Obi-Wan in ROTS.

Thanks Josh, that was pretty cool. I love any EU stuff, no matter how far fetched.

No problem. I enjoy some of the EU stuff. I love Maul as you guys know already so anything dealing with him I find enjoying.

If you connect the dots, you can see how Grevious was originally planned. The stories and artwork in Visionaries were created by writers, storyboard artists, etc. that had worked on Episode 3. Look at Grevious's early artwork and design images... the eyes behind that mask are Mauls.. its unmistakable in my opinion. I think that Grevious was going to be one of the big reveals in Sith. Image Obi and Grevious in a long drawn out Saber fight on Utapuu as clones flood the place. The video game version of the Obi-Wan Grevious fight was so much better than the movie.. would have been perfect. Obi damages Grevious' mask and the front panel falls away to reveal Maul's black face. Follow that up with a little speech similar to the "I fell a long way that day" speech from the comic.. and end in a similar way to Sith Grevious demise. Obi-Wan hanging there would have added an extra depth to the scene with Grevious being Maul.

However, everyone started to talk about Maul being Grevious after the production pictures started to leak. I really think Lucas decided to change it at the last minute to avoid that. And, I think Grevious suffered for that. The only respect I have for Grevious as a villian comes from the Clone Wars cartoon. If you just take him for what we saw in ROTS, he's no more than a pimped-out battle droid. That's why I could never get into the PF... character was just too weak to be worth the money.

Too freakin cool. Im not involved in the EU but that was too cool. Cant believe they gave him such a lackluster death in the prequel, he deserved more of an exit.

That would have been sweet to have Maul as Grevious. I for one would not have excpected that! BTW what game does the Maul reveal happen in?

Well, next year when the 6 film Box Set comes out, we know Lucas is messing with the prequals (ie TPM puppet Yoda now a digital Yoda) so there could still be a chance right?

Grievous has reptile eyes, there's no way that it would have been Maul's. But that is slightly interesting.

I wish they would have kept Maul, he was more interesting than Dooku.

More Maul would always be better. Maul just would have been so much better in ROTS than Grievous. He would have tied more emotion to ROTS for Obi-Wan than he already had in the current storyline.

I read an interview where Lucas said it was a mistake to kill off maul. He just didn't have an idea of how popular the character was until after he was dead. OH well, good flash.

Yeah, I read that myself. A bummer for sure. Ah well Lucas should just make a movie based on Maul for the hell of it.
