Thanks Josh, that was pretty cool. I love any EU stuff, no matter how far fetched.

I like SOME Expanded Universe stuff and got a kick out of this story in the "Visionaries" GN, but I have to admit it is quite faulty for two big reasons:

1) The contrived nature of Maul's return. Not only is he not dead since TPM, but he's been just offscreen during the major events of the AOTC and ROTS. He even kills Watto and was on Mustafar just after the duel. Pretty lame. Lucas' SW universe is small enough as it is, but EU writers seem to have an affinity for Forest-Gumpizing all the characters.

2) After all is said and done, Maul is not finally destroyed by Obi-Wan but Owen by a shot to the back. SUPER LAME.

That said, it's still a fun story and it's technically not even in the EU canon anyway, so I can live with it for what it is.

Hopefully that can be a change George does when he alters the PT. He also needs to include Yoda's trip to Dagobah.
