Mayweather's just like De La Hoya. They pretty much just fight nobody's and people think they're great. I'll give it to De La Hoya though, he HAS fought some tough fighters, all whom he lost to. Mayweather is just such a ????? and he's going to be a piece of fruit to the PACMAN !!!

Thats the truth, i mean i wouldn't give a crap if floyd had 2 or 3 losses by the time he retires, i would rather he have lost and had a few very tough opponents then just retire with lesser fighters under his belt and the 0.

Dela Hoya fought Chavez and Camacho when they were older, but still effective, Ike Quarterly, Sugar Shane twice, Tito , Vargas when the jury still wasn't out on if was the real deal or not, and B-hop. Even though like you said hes got 6 losses and most of them came in his big fights, i still respect him more then a guy whos only great win include Corrales (which many people agree he should have lost).

Yea, hes a shell of his former self and has been washed up for years. Shoulda retired after he beat Ruiz for the heavywieght belt. Instead of going out on a high at 34 with a record of 50-1, never really loosing except for 1 DQ and winning the god damn heavywieght belt, the guy goes on to loose 5 of his last 10 fights, 3 by brutal KO(2 before the 3rd round!!!). Sad freaking story...........

On another note, Bernard Hopkins had an impressive showing last night at the age of 44!! He was going to fight Roy Jones in march, but after the analrapage that went on downunder thats not going to happen. Rumor is he might fight Chad Dawson, which would be huge and officially give Dawson the push into the spotlight and finally give him the title of creme of the crop at Lightwieght if he would win.

What do you guys think about making this the official Boxing thread?? I was under the impression that boxing heads were few and far between here, but by the looks of this post there are some guys on here that know thier stuff

I'd be down, but i would like to preserve a spot for a MAYWEATHER vs PAC MAN thread (this fight deserves it's own thread) ... but for the time being this could serve as the boxing thread.

Possibly when the fight is over we could have a mod re-name this to BOXING ? ? ?
