Back on the original topic, I'm listening to Sarah Palin speak right now, and I am hearing one more reason NOT to vote for her. I am sick and tired of people who use the words EYEraq, EYEran, an nucular. If you're going to be a public speaker, learn how to freaking speak!

I'm glad I'm not the only one... I really hate that so many people continue to butcher the English language. The only thing that annoys me more is "fustrated" instead of frustrated. :banghead:banghead:banghead

Isn't ironic that US corporations are major employers of Chinese people but China holds so much of the nations debt? How the fk did that happen?

I guess those $3.99 plastic hampers at Walmart aren't really $3.99 after all. More like $25 after interest.

How do you give tax breaks to the two-thirds of US business that already pay no taxes (as per a GAO study)?

The two-thirds of businesses that aren't paying taxes are small businesses, who are investing capital in new equipment, new operating locations (be they offices, retail stores, warehouses, or other overhead), or expanding their headcount, and they are given breaks to help ensure that they, you know, stay in business. These businesses average paying taxes about 2 out of every five years, and they aren't rolling in cash reserves. We're not talking about the Microsofts of the world.

The reality is that large corporations still shoulder roughly 90% of the tax burden in this country, despite the pablum that the media has fed to you.

As they should. Who else should hold the load? Taco Bell workers pulling in $800 a month?

Corporations exist because the government protects their right to profit and protects the people by whom they earn those profits from. Its fitting they harness that load. Profit minus 30% is still 70% they would never have had.

You missed my point. With their tax burden already so high, there is plenty of room for tax incentives to encourage them to keep jobs here. But I don't see those incentives ever being implemented by Congress.
