I'm not going to write you a treatise on epistemology, so I'm going to leave it at point blank disagreement. It's a fact.

This is a discussion of legality. It is your opinion (there's that word again) that natural law cannot be abrogated by state law. And actually every item you choose to categorize as a natural law is also your opinion.

The entirety of natural rights philosophy was derived via inductive method. You see, this logic thing that keeps coming up was actually a method devised to separate conclusions derived from fantasy from conclusions derived from reality. That is, subjective claims vs. objective claims.

The reason why the American legal system, based on natural rights, was as successful as it was is because it was a fact that human nature demanded the observance of these rights if humans were to live as humans (and not the sub-human chattel they lived as prior to the advent of science and individualist political philosophy.

The reason why legal systems based on other conceptions of rights (communist, fascist, etc.) universally failed was because they were not, in fact, based on any shred of truth regarding the fact which is human nature.

What makes a natural right is not anyone's arbitrary assertion.

This is again your opinion - and a subject worth of discussion. But it's not how our legal system operates and therefore the objection is irrelevant here.

If our legal system has come to operate incorrectly, objections to the means by which it has produced its effects are anything but irrelevant.

Standard fare for as long as I can remember. It's nothing new, and is hardly a product of the political climate under the current administration.

As a matter of fact, all of my experience with incidents like this occurred during the Clinton administration.
