Thats a good point buttmunch, art figures or companys in the like could easily do a knockoff rick like the zombie killer there making now of that other movie looks good. I would be happy to see something like that available.

Yeah, that would be great. Then I dont have to pay out the *** for a custom.

the worst thing about this is the message it sends. On how either McFarlane did such a good job people are dying to have these figures or on how they made a good choice by going with McFarlane in the first place.
I hate that most of all. This things are horrible and badly done and if they all sell out it is going to look like he did such a good job...

The only good thing that can come from this is that another company could try to do a 1/6 scale of Walking Dead

:exactly: :goodpost: Though, I'll also add that it shows how sheepish people can be. :lol

Ok so I lied:( I was at tru today and they had series 2 there and I finally bit the bullet and picked them up. Mainly because I love the show so much and wanted something from it. The figures are ok, but not the quality I'm used to and certainly not the scale I collect but they do look nice on card, which is how they will stay. Way over priced for what they are, these should be 9.99 at most. My wife also picked up the bluray set of season 2 for me yesterday just because:1-1:

Same thing happened to me last week. Now I'm trying to play catch up :slap :lol

Series 3 looks good though so I'm hoping they've gotten through their failures of series 1 and the crawling feature on Bike girl. Its like they thought these were actually being made for kids :rotfl

Since these are not really aimed at kids I wonder what they chose this scale, most collectors want at least 7" like neca or bigger. It would be cool if mcfarlane produces these as 12" action statues with better detail and sold them for like 35.99 or something than at least they would have some presents on a shelf. These little guys are to toyish in size to look cool on a shelf, there not bad in package for a little display but even owning them now there not doing it for me, glad to finally have some walking dead merchindise but still leaves me unsatisfied, I guess size does matter!!!

Pretty much everything non-sports related from McFarlane is this scale now. Well, I guess it was only Halo before WD, but more and more companies are moving to smaller scales due to rising costs. :dunno

Yeah I guess your right, its sad to see though. What happened to the company that produced this robocop figure, yeah its not hot toys quality but its not bad ether, if they produced figures like this they would be a real competitor to companys like neca. Not sure whats there plan right now, looks like there just trying to milk a great license with over priced subpar figures:dunno

Got this in the mail today

The prices on daryl are crazy. I kid of want to sell mine now. I also have the variant ricks from both comic and show. Should I sell them?

:lol I still don't understand what they're trying to do. They articulate the figures so that you can pose them, but the sculpts are pretty much static to a single pose to look right. :cuckoo: :lol

They go "great" with the Toybiz Resident Evil figures. :lol

McFarlane is really out of touch.

They still have TWD and Halo listed as 6-inch scale on their website. :cuckoo:

Serires 3 doesn't look like the single pose chopped up like the first series did. Series 2 is like a transition wave where they are static poses, but without the unneeded articulation series 1 had. And series 3 looks like proper articulated action figures finally. :dunno

What series is the Rick on the last page from? Because with the hunched shoulders, sideways glance and stance, he still looks pose-specific despite the articulation.

Sheriff Rick is series 1, T-shirt rick is series 2. The series 2 Rick is still preposed, but he doesn't have useless leg and hip articulation the first waves (TV and comic) had. Its more a classic NECA/McFarlane type figure in smaller size.

Yeah. Michonne and Merle look good. Non pre-posed sculpts designed with articulation in mind.

This is how they should have started.

The first series was a WTF with weird articulation added to a clearly pre-posed staction figure and kiddie action features. Series 2 is more a step back to classic McFarlane pre-posed saction figures with Bike Girl being the one holdout on the stupid action feature area. Series 3 looks like the articulation they tried to use in series 1 without the pre-posed bodies. More neutral and useful this time. Definately where they should have started if they wanted these higher articulated than their typical figures. I guess the sculptors didn't get that memo with series 1 :lol

But I do think series 3 is looking the best so far. And the added value with removable limbs on the pets is a great idea too. Only the autopsy zombie is meh, but still decent zombie choice.

NECA was McF's competition for years. They over saturated the market and released so many movie figures that McFarlane had little left. They snatched up licenses like crazy, and released them almost every month it felt like back then.

I mean, they tried to do new things, but the stores wouldn't take more movie figures. So McFarlane tried to tap into other areas, like TRU and Wal-Mart.

They make the Halo Figures, which are pretty great, and sell. So they got a good catch on that one.

They don't need to do anything else. And they lost touch with their audience, and ****ed them selves into a corner. He deleted their message board, used Facebook to talk with their fans. Which....doesn't make any sense.

Point is, NECA drove McF into this area, and McF did nothing to get them back on track.

Out of curiosity, does anyone elses Well Zombie guts accessory missing the bottom piece?....the bottom cone that locks into the lower torso? I thought it was just mine, but when I went to exchange it at the comic shop, every single one had the bottom piece missing???
