Nah, Sean Bean.
Bean has a great voice and it needs to be very distinctive under that mask.

Hmmm. Bean is a good voice and I like where you're coming from but I'd think he's probably getting too old for a role they'd want to fill for 10 years. Which would also probably knock Viggo out too. Considering that if the rumors are true and Krasinski is being lined up as Reed Richards I'd think they'd want Doom to be closer in age to him for series longevity. It's basically a 10 year contract if he does minimum 3 movies.

Davies is so engrained in my mind as Gimli I couldn't hear anything else.

But all that to be said I guess it depends if they ever intend to show Doom's face maskless. They could easily deage Bean for any time before the mask and from there on it doesn't matter. Which in and of itself highlights what you're saying. Maybe Doom should be cast based on a recognizable voice more than appearance in the end.

I wonder if they'd want him to have an accent? Considering the Romani background and the idea of Latveria being fictional like Wakanda I could see them going out of their way to do that.

RE DOOM:

In a perfect world, I'd have gone with Daniel Day-Lewis. Jude Law would've been great, but he was wasted in Carl Manvers. Nikolaj Coster-Waldu is a fan favourite, and I can see it. Andrew Lincoln is my left-field pic. Viggo would certainly be great too.

As for the origins, I've said it before, and I dislike his 616 one. I actually like the Ultimate version (Goat Legs & F4 aside). You could mix the two and come up with a compromise. Because I surely don't care about more "muh gypsies" nonsense from people who've never lived close to them.

Yeah, they do seem to have a hateboner against gingers, even though they're the rarest natural phenotype and are quite striking. And, you know, blacks/browns aren't exactly uncommong, so I don't get the fascination with the racebending if they want to be more "diverse". Euros are the smallest global percentage race wise and so are those combinations. Anyway, the X-Men have tons of them. Jean, Rachel, Banshee, Siryn, Maddie, Wolfsbane, sometimes Moira, Shatterstar, Heather Hudson, Mystique, just off the top of my head. Jean's red hair is her signature, they can't be such idiots.

Honestly, I don't think you have to racebend anyone in the X-Franchise, as it's pretty diverse already. You've got White Americans, Whites from Europe, Native Americans, Australians, Chinese, Japanese, Latinos, everything. And not in merely supporting roles, they're at the forefront. I've always liked Forge, for example, as he's got kickass tech powers, and you could easily add him to the team as the tech expert while Beast is the biology guy. Sunfire was pretty unique in that he put Japan before mutantdom which led to some nice conflicts. And that's not getting into the New Mutants, Gen X and the like.
