Maybe for you, but works for me.
I think one thing that lets the Medicom Yoda down, is the long-ish neck.
If it was a little shorter, it'd look SO much better.
Nice pic man!
It could well be more a photo thing, than an in person issue I guess.
BTW, yeah.. great pic Rory.
I just picked up a medicom yoda yesterday on ebay. awesome what green color did you use on his skin I might have to try it out
How much did you pick him up for? I'm trying to find him for a decent price.

It was a mixture of tones I'm afraid. I didn't use one specific color. Just layers of slightly different tones? What I noticed about the Yoda puppet is that it's almost the reverse of traditional dry brushing. Lighter in the grooves and wrinkles, darker on the raised parts.
Hope this helps a little bit.
want to paint mine you lost me some where with all the color technics( ha ha)
Great observation on the skin tone, guys. It's as if the raised areas are almost dirty, so you have to go from light to dark.
Can I ask how you guys plan to go about applying the hair? I was thinking of using pillow filling instead of a q-tip, but not sure what to use to stick it ont here. A matt clear coat acrylic?
