Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

Still tidying up the eyes before I gloss them. Almost there with the head.

I think the skin tone is somewhat near the Hot Toys since I'll have them all stand side by side on display. I don't want it too pale that he'll look ill or a huge difference against the rest of the figs.

Forgot to say, the earlier version is the same tone/texture but it had the skin tone on the trim of the cowl. That is now gone. :)

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

Not trying to be mean dude, but the suit looks great, no doubt about it. But the head, that is another story, it needs some work

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

I do believe the term you're looking for is constructive criticism. :)

This was taken shortly after the feedback:

Suffering from blood pressure? ;)

Nobody, I'm talking in general as if it was a statement. It does look like blood pressure on the figure. :)

The chest and repaint look amazing, no exaggeration I love it! Good job V.

Gracias. It sure hasn't been easy. So much tweaking and refining. Most of the hard work is done though.

Oh my! what big zoomer you have.

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

Missing canister complete.

Cotton bud stem. Some thin cardboard and putty. Cut the grooves into the cardboard with the craft knife and used a needle to pierce the little rivet like holes for an accurate canister.

All thats left to do to the belt is weather it up. Somewhat matte soft shiny bronze/gold.

Now weathered, based on the real belt colour texture and tone.

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

Vodoun where did you get that 1/6 camera accessory?

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

Stunning job Vodoun, just one question, have you done the head / neck mod to yours? Or is that out of box with only repainting done?

I thought that as well the more it builds up. So once this is finished I was thinking I'll build a fancy DX stand or something that has quite a big backing and or mini diorama. I would like to do the scene after Rachel dies with the cape flowing in the wind over the rocks and rubble.

I didn't. Somebody on the Toy World HK forum has it.

Yeah, the head and neck is stuffed with foam. I heated up the head originally with boiling water and from that most of the head base popped away. Then packed it with foam so it would push it out enough. Once done glued it back into place. The neck is really tight since then.

Scary how far the colour was off.
