Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

Thrustmaster. I really appreciate your shots of this figure over the last few pages. I was worried as nearly every fig in this thread has been modified in some way. Therefore I had some reservations about whether I wanted to buy it or not, as the chances of me doing the modifications every one else has done are pretty slim, really.

The main changes i'd make would be a re-paint to the head and belt.

But the way your shots look kind of squashed my head paint worries, he actually looks really nicely painted outta the box.

The belt paint is still a bit of an issue, but I could probably live with it. Plus, I have an original HT begins, so I could always use the belt from him - the porker! :lol

So thanks mate. and great shots!

On another note, I want to ask everyone in this thread one thing: Do you think I would be happy with an un-modified medi figure with my only concerns being the mouth and belt paint? nothing else bothers me, like the length of the cape etc.

So what are your opinions? Cheers

You're welcome :)
I was worried too if I should buy him or not, because I've seen so many pics in which he just doesn't look that good, but also seen some pics of magnuz, vodoun, agen where you can't believe that he's SO good. The paint and poor quality has given me also some worries, but after I've got a good deal, I couldn't resist and I must say, I'm in love with this figure. When the Medicom comes out, I was pro-HT, but now my HT TDK is on the Batpod, after I've got the Medicom. And he looks really good straight out of the box!

But now I'm just trying to get the maximum of it, sent the head to rismo for a repaint and reshape, maybe I'll repaint for myself the belt or I'll buy one seperate from the DX when he comes out. I even play with the idea to do the same mod as vodoun has made with his new carbon-decalls, but I haven't the time for it PLUS I never would get it so beautiful like vodoun.

I've done just one modification: I put some cotton in the neck so it just looks a bit wider, but that's a question for 5 minutes or so :p

And I love also the cape of him. The two different materials (inside and outside) are just spot on, and i love to pose it. I have a buddy-lee cape here but I think i let him with his original cape.

And yes, just buy it and you will really be happy with it. That applies also to you Snake ;)

He likes to make essay posts about things

Dude, calm down Devil. You kind of take things a bit too far sometimes and like spend time looking for people's posts....... just..let it go man :peace

Now, back to the Medicom Batman, What do you guys think is a reasonable price for this guy? :monkey3

The price on ebay actually went down quite a lot a few weeks ago...they normally sell for about £120 about $196 but recently they went down to about £100 about $163

Don't forget they normally have a £30 delivery charge a 15% Vat charge and a £8 Royal mail holding charge.
So you're looking at least paying £153.
I'm getting the DX Batman from an UK dealer for around the same price

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

The head in those pics Riko look pinched, lighting not withstanding, it just looks fabricated or manipulated somehow

what are you saying, those were out of the box pictures (from a friend of mine on a belgian forum)
nothing fabricated or mnipulated

thing is, I do not believe that when making the same kind of pictures: same lightning and angles, from the new HT DX, the figure won't give such a bad impression as it does here.

+ most of the nicer pictures of the Medicom were adjusted versions of the medicom

Wow, dude you must get lucky with your orders because when I get anything outside the EU, it always gets the VAT and Holding charge added to it

The head still looks pushed together. Mine didn't looked so, when I recieved it.

isn't it normal to adjust first your figure, when it arrives? When I remember how bad my HT DK Batman has looked, or the BR Joker when it arrived at my door. :sick

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

My Medicom bats hasn't had any modifications on its headsculpt at all - it's box fresh (cept the cape and a recent belt repaint not seen in these pics)

It's a great looking figure. I can't see that much of a need to get the DX if you don't want to.
I don't have any Dark Knights so that's why I went for the DX.
I'm sure Hot Toys have the completion's figure in there office and are looking to better it.
It's naive to think that the DX will not be an improvement if only a slight improvement.

I don't know, maybe due to production problems... who knows... The head is just like a rubber-ball, if it's warm enough you can wide him as wide as you want or just push it so together and you'll have a thin and long face/cowl.

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

I just don't get the Hot Toys Vs Medicom debate.
I'm sure if Medicom brought out another Dark Knight it would be an improvement.

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

I just don't get the Hot Toys Vs Medicom debate.

Some people are so confused they really think when a company they like "wins" that somehow, in some twisted ass-backwords logic it means that they've won too. It's pathetic and I'll never personally understand it. I've stated numerous times on here: NONE of us work for these companies. NONE of us get paid from these companies and NONE of us make money when these companies make money. So who cares. I could care less what company makes what. I buy products. Not company logos.

Anyways.. here's some of the pics I saw that look like the ones riko posted:
