Wow, is this the elephantitis Maul...? WTF is up with those bearclaws?

Nice, his inner robes don't have that weak vinyl look from SDCC. His shoulders look scrawny but if its really 89.99 then I'd have to say that this is the superior Maul. Not superior enough for me to swap out my SS Maul for one that isn't in scale, but I'd still give the slight edge to Medicom.

looks like they traded the big boots for the huge hands. but at that price point i might bite but i won't be getting rid of my SS Maul.

What's most promising to me is, going by the position of his hand holding the binocullars, it seems Medi may have finally updated their wrist joints from the single axis to be more like Sideshow and HT wrists.

The texture of the skin on his head is certainly life like... For $90 this would be a great figure.

Thankfully, the horns also show a definite realism, and given Medi's past figures, they could have easily gone the toy route and resembled Hasbro horns. Can't wait for this figure, I really hope he doesn't suffer the Fett curse of delays.

Textures are excellent on the face and horns, but what's with the mitts? And originally I thought the look on his face was a lot better, but in these shots, he looks a little...dim? Sideshow's seems to have more of a contemplative, focused, zen-like look. :monkey3

I'll know for sure in about a week. Just scored the inclusive for $56 +shipping. :maul

Now Ventress will have someone to thrash.:rock:rock:rock

how's about a side by side comparison? i own the ss inclusive version and like it alot. the medi version doesn't seem that much better to warrant spending the $90.

Look earlier in this thread or the other Medi Maul thread, the comparrison has been beaten to death plenty to do your research.

the mitts do look rather large... could be the result of the zoom of the camera (at least that is what i am hoping)...in person, the figure absolutely rocked (with the crossed arms) so i am anything but worried...

Medicom Fan: Like everything else in Mediworld this is the best thing ever!!

Sideshow Fan: Meh.

Medicom Fan: You're just jealous. Sideshow has big heads and crappy articulation and you could actually wear SSC Maul's boots!

Sideshow Fan: Whatever. Medicom figures are too short and expensive. I've had root c****s and Vegas hookers that cost less.

Medicom Fan: You get what you pay for. You can't afford THE BEST FIGURES EVER™ then get a better job!

Sideshow Fan: Yeah, well... Medicom's Luke sucks!

LOL, OMG, emoticon

As much as I hate to admit it...this version will very likely replace my Sideshow version on my desk at work.

On the bright side...that will open up the Sideshow one to be displayed hacking up Qui-Gonn's butt.

His inner robes didn't have that weak vinyl look at CC either. I was disappointed by the pics. But when I saw him in person the first thing I noticed was how different those robes look in person. And these pics do show that aspect much better than most SDCC pics that I saw did.

As a 1/6 scale STAR WARS since 1999, may I please add my humble 2 cents?

I've spent the last 8 years trying to customize high-end SW 12-inch figures, using HASBRO, Kotobukiya, Kaiyodo, ANYTHING 1/6 scale.

We've gone from a dearth of high-end SW stuff to a veritable cornucopia of great merchandise to chose from!

I realize we all have different spending budgets, but I'm personally very happy to have a VARIETY of products to choose from.

Medicom's Maul looked GREAT in person at San Diego, I thought. And he's one Medicom that actually IS in scale to the SS figures; Ray Park is not a giant!

Whee, toys! Let's all play!

Every one who wants to rekindle the Medi vs SS debate should be required to read this post.

Why exactly should Medicom suck-up to Sideshow's scale? With the laughably-bad proportions of the Art S. Buck body, scale is the least of my concerns.
