I don't think either are perfect to be honest.
The Medicom sculpt and attire are nicer but the chunky saber blades, plastic belt and crappy looking 2 piece gloves really take the quality down a few notches.
The SSC one has nice attire too and better sabers than the Medicom version but is let down by the boots, base body and more than anything else the stoned expression of the headsculpt.

My boots were perfect, but pretty much what this guy said...

HS, Body, clothes, boots etc. are better on the medi.

SS one has better sabers and belt.

overall Medi

Actually Faramir, I think youve got it all backwards. Not everybody wants a calm looking stoned maul. But if you do, then that is certainly not surprising to me one bit. oh and no need to lecture about which to get. Im quite informed and have both :)

I wouldn't know what "stoned" looks like, but I do prefer a Maul with some depth to his look to a Maul in the overly done angry look. But I'm grateful that you're not surprised and that you are so informed. At least I know people know me here, and that you're doing what makes you happy. You'll have to forgive my "lecturing" too; I admit I can be pretty verbose at times but it's only meant to offer a different opinion. Maybe I am backwards, but I'm cool with that. No hard feelings dude, everybody's thoughts are valid.

All a matter of opinion.

MediMaul's high points to me are face paint apps, cloak hood size, articulated wrists, wiring of his cloak and tunic fabric.

His lows are slender body, thin tunic fabrics, poor tunic construction, long neck, silky cloak fabric and fat sabers.

Favorably, the pros are elements of the figure that getting right makes a big difference to enjoyment of the piece so you can look past some of the cons, but they are there, and there are issues with the Sideshow figure. I'd love to see Hot Toys make a Maul because I think their style would result in a Maul that's a marriage of what Sideshow got right, what Medicom right, and getting right things that neither got right.

Can we just lock this thread and end this debate...it's so boring...and taking up valuable **** space on the internet...

Some people like Medicom, Some people like Sideshow. Everyone has their own opinion...

WE GET IT...

And now back to the ****...

"To a Maul in the overly done angry look"

Jezus Cap! You've quite outdone yourself with that comment.

I like Maul when he gets his snear on.Maul is best when he looks pissed off, that's Maul's whole look. You wouldn't do Maul Justice if you left the snear out.Anyway...

I have gotta pose my Maul like this. Good one ed.:maul
