Which raises a question from earlier Chavez, how're you liking Cade skywalker, and the legacy comics?

Also, i do'nt think that's a repaint Chavez, looks exactly like mine.....

damn this thread is making me want to spend money I can't.....

Do me a favor and resend those links for me.I accidently erased the message you sent when I was clearing my message box.

no, thats a repaint... I'm sure of it.

I don't see anything all that different in the sculpt to give it emotion, just eyes painted pissed off.

There's no magic happening in this sculpt, it's pretty calm looking, a little pinching of the skin above the nose along the brow and that's about it. The paint makes all the difference of the life on this figure.

I think it is infact the sculpt and NOT the paint. If it were the paint, why hasn't anyone repainted their SS maul to look just as pissed off as the Medicom one?

only one way to tell. someone spray medi-maul with primer, so we can see an unpainted sculpt.

The other thing that's kickass is what Obi-Wan is doing in that same shot: twirling his lightsaber with one hand nonchalantly while walking slowly toward Maul like Joe Cool. :rock

What a great sequence.

Definitely the coolest part of the DOTF for me, and I love the twirl they established in TPM as Obi-Wan's signature move, it's also cool when he does it as the shields lower and he goes running down the tunnel to help Qui-Gon, almost like twirling his saber jumpstarts his body.

I repainted the eyes and evened out one of his tats but that's it. The sculpt is superb. One of SS's best.
I really like both Medi's and Sideshows sculpts. There are really minimal differences in that area.

do you have a front view shot?

Not everybody wants an angry looking Maul though. Both sculpts are just as good, but their expressions are different. I prefer a calmer look to an angry one, hence my appreciation for the Sideshow sculpt. If you prefer an angry stare then by all means get Medimaul. Regardless of which you choose, the quality of the likeness will be the same no matter which you choose.

Most people want a mean looking maul.(Hence why most of his collectibles are portrayed in that exact way) I mean thats just what the character is about. Maybe some of the people that have the SS one won't admit that cause it will make them feel better about owning it but hey whatcha gonna do?! Yeah maybe not everybody but most do i'm sure.(i think that was cleary evident when the figure was first released and most people didn't care for the expression, and woulda rather had him look mean instead of stoned but still liked the sculpt)

Actually Faramir, I think youve got it all backwards. Not everybody wants a calm looking stoned maul. But if you do, then that is certainly not surprising to me one bit. oh and no need to lecture about which to get. Im quite informed and have both :)

I don't think either are perfect to be honest.
The Medicom sculpt and attire are nicer but the chunky saber blades, plastic belt and crappy looking 2 piece gloves really take the quality down a few notches.
The SSC one has nice attire too and better sabers than the Medicom version but is let down by the boots, base body and more than anything else the stoned expression of the headsculpt.
