While the paint and texturing looks good, as does the detail, the sculpt just doesn't look as good as Sideshow's offering. But I will reserve judgment until I see more in-hand pics, especially the ones from MaulFan.

Thanks dude, and I'm not holding my breath for texture on on the final figure. The Jango proto looked almost like it would be textured and the final piece was same old same old. I'm sure the tats will be nice and clean though, which is good. As for the sculpt, what hurts it is just a common trend among Medicom's human portraits. If you cut away from about the nose up, they do great sculpting as far as capturing likness, but the jawline and mouth regions always come out off, often the jawline gets to slender, like with Jango, Jack Sparrow and Maul. Wolvering is about the best likeness portrait I've seen Medicom do. Even his jawline isn't as wide as it could be, but it's far more impreceptable to the casual viewing.

The green line shows basically how Park/Maul's jawline should be shaped and the blue line highlights the narrow jawline of the figure. Yes the head is slightly tilted but it's not much. The yellow area is where I find a lot of Medi portraits lose the likeness outside of the jawline.

Yeah, I'm not expecting the skin texture but I do expect it will turn out as nice as possible.

I'd like to put a non deformed palpatine next to this.(would need to find the right robe though)

Oh, it's not the patience (although that is good) it's the CC debt that's keeping him at bay.:maul Had to look at the priorities and I've already got one great Maul-- that'll hold me for now.

I hear ya,luckily i have some extra $ right now.In most cases i would have this guy ordered through alterego or a cheaper place but i just want it NOW!

(i suppose i could use the RP anyways)

Shipping on the 26th!! bring it!!!

Man, this figure looks great. Maybe the likeness isn't quite as close to the Sideshow version, it's debatable I'm sure, but the Medicom's expression more than makes up for it. I just couldn't get behind the Sideshow Maul with that dopey face and monkey arms. I'm not saying it isn't a great figure, I'm not trying to stir the pot, I'm just excited to see more of this Maul.

Has anyone heard anything about this Maul's boots?

Best close up of the boots i see till more in hand pics.(they don't looks quite as big and clunky as SS's)

Yes,the boots do fit. :duff

I don't know that they are too out of proportion... those boots were clunkers in real life :lol

But the do appear a bit slimmer on the Medicom which does look nice.

Those are some moon boots. Sideshow's were a little too big. They were even wobbly when I put them on a HT body. It was actually a little hard to pose. Too much room inside.
