I can't do any pics yet because I left my camera at work. But my first impression is that I am not impressed, nor disappointed. I am already racking up the quality issues. The seams are split where the wrists and feet go into the arms and legs.
The costume has some good and bad to it. It is very complex, more detailed that Sideshow's, but poorly put-together. If it were not for the velcro closure in the front, it would be better than Sideshow's. The velcro closure keeps mine from laying right when it is closed. I very much like the fact that the costume is lined with a nylon fabric. The helps it fall over bent legs and arms a little better than Sideshow's...but just a little. The tabbards are not loose-hanging. They are made like a collar on the tunic and the bottom half that is loose is sewed to the tunic at the waist. Mine are also VERY un-even.
The belt is the standard cheap Medicom plastic. I am sure it will slip off if a person strips Maul from the waist down. The flap in the back that is supposed to cover the fastener is just glued on over the belt. The belt does not open that I can tell. It appears that the lightsaber attaches to the belt with the peg and hole feature like Hasbro used in their 3 3/4" line.
The face is cool with the glare. But for what I like in a portrait on a 12" action figure, it is no better than Sideshow's. I don't think it looks any more or less movie-accurate. The horns may be a little better detailed. And I do like the double-jointed neck for articulation. But the neck really needs to be 1/8th of an inch shorter. I think that would have been easy for Medicom to do. The coveted skin texture is not there.
Here is a monster plus for me: The boots are soft enough to permit a little of the ankle articulation to be effective. Man that really is a big boost to make poses look more realistic.
The lightsaber blades are too thick and don't hold up to much of a bump to stay straight in the lightsaber hilts. They are also removeable which will end up causing wear.
The extra hands are OK. The ones for use in having his arms folded are all one piece. Then there are three other upper halves of the gloves, a right and 2 lefts, one left with the droid control bracelet. Then 3 lower lefts and 4 lower rights. Three of each side are basically matched sets in 3 different stages of open near fist, 1/2 open, and 3/4 open. Then the other right hand has the fingers splayed as for the pose of having his hand on the ground supporting his weight and the lightsaber behind his back.
The electrobinoculars are great. One of my favorite parts of a figure ais the accessories and the electrobinoculars definitely better than Sideshow's. The sculpt is much cleaner and the paint app is VERY precisely applied.
Over-all I would give the Medi-Maul a 75%...for a 75.00 figure. For a 150.00 figure...cancel your orders.
