just preordered this sweet alien fig, its amazing how much detail was put into it and that smokey dome may be the whole reason for getting this one..pretty cool!

Really disappointed with the "poseability" of this figure. The main shot on Sideshow's page shows the rubber suit all bunched up! I still want him of course, but maybe not for $170!

Just my opinion, but I am still a b#$%h for the A L I E N

OMG, the Alien ate Jonesy!!

Anyways...I'm thinking I'll wait and see what HT does. They've just barely touched their Alien 1 and Predator 1 licenses.

This figure is looking good, it looks to me that medicom is making more accurate Alien figures than hot toys. I hope they make more aliens from the other movies also.

Well it seems I was wrong for the pre-order I said July I think.... And yeah what's up w/the Hulk/Spidey pics SSC? Hmm looks like the same pics that we saw before. But I don't mind and yeah I will have to pass on this fig due to the price. And I think HT will still release their version of the big chap early summer '09 to celebrate the 30th anniv. I think I can save until then...........I hope....

It's price and crappy quality like that I am leaning away from mainstream stuff. Medicom is the most notorious for loudsy cheap plastic, expensive crap. I bought
DID's samurai figure. For a good $100 I was able to get metal armor and terrific craftsmanship. The point is when I look at my shelf, the thing that stands out for me isn't necessary my $150 batman.

Well, the deal-killers for me are height and price. I think HT ill eventually do one at a proper 1/6th height, just as accurate (since the sculpt is more unique), and hopefully at a lower price.

I doubt Hot Toys will be more accurate than the Medi, their alien line is the most inaccurate stuff they produce, imho anyway.

Yep.

All you guys waiting and hoping for Hot Toys to deliver an accurate Alien figure are in for a big let down. If you haven't learned that they give their Aliens an "artistic" look, then you really haven't been paying attention.

Don't get me wrong...I love HT's Aliens...but they don't deliver in the accuracy department whatsoever.

I've pre-ordered the Medi Alien. I think it looks great.

I think Hot Toys might and hope they will surprise us on this one though. With the spot on likeness of Dallas and the fantastic looking suits on the Nostromo figures, it really would be a disappointment if HT got the main character wrong.

Kind of on the fence with the Medicom now though. There's a lot I like about him, but my subconscience is warning me away from that rubber suit, with all of its bunching. I don't know...

Yeah just looking @ the pics again I noticed not to much articulation? I see Med took the same idea like NECA and have swival action on the upper portion of the arms & wrists and I think the feet? I am all for articulation but I don't see it on the rest of the body? It does look nice but I guess I am too picky...

I think you're not seeing articulation because it's covered by the rubber suit.
