Re: Medicom RAH Alien 2008!

ummm... i was under the impression that the alien in the movie was around 8 feet tall.
Which would put him a little more than a foot taller than Vader.

Re: Medicom RAH Alien 2008!

Would the difference be in articulation?

The difference would be a purely molded articulated plastic(like HT Aliens and Medi Ryuk) vs a 1/6 human body dressed in a suit(medicom Ultraman Aliens)

If they go the VCD route ala Ryuk, it could be much taller than the standard RAH figures.

Bolaji Badejo, who played the Alien, stood 7'2" tall. The suit feet would have given him a couple of extra inches. So, no more than 7'6".

Re: Medicom RAH Alien 2008!

Hadn't thought about him being part of the VCD line, thats possible...

Re: Medicom RAH Alien 2008!

I'm gonna wait on hot toys before I make any decisions with this matter.
I think they will give us something amazing.

Well, we already know that it's 300mm tall (11.8 inches).

I agree personally that this makes the figure a non-starter for me. Yes, you can take the figure on its own and try not to worry about scale issues, but I think a lot of people are going to want to be posing it with other human figures, and for that he's just too short.

Way too short for me.
If I were to buy it , it would of gone with my other aliens. I remember buying all my 7 inch figures when I first started collecting then my first 12 inch. I didn't know where to put it !. :lol:lol

Re: Medicom RAH Alien 2008!

They are saying that this is in the RAH line. That means that it's based on the RAH body. Now the 300 mm could just mean that's the standard height of a RAH body and this will be in scale with that. But it won't be a vinyl figure or they'd say that. With Fullmetal Alchemist Alphonse is a vinyl figure and Ed is a RAH320 (or whatever the small body is) and that's how they advertised them. Yoda they advertised as a vinyl even though he was compatible in scale and design with the SW RAH.

Re: Medicom RAH Alien 2008!

I'm really curious as to how the poseability will work on this figure. Its really hard to tell in the pictures.

Ditto not to much articulation in the arms and legs (bendable & swival). And the 2nd jaw closed? :monkey2 I might be too picky but what do I know....

I think its looks beautiful..true to gigers alien..I dont care about articulation anyway....might grab one down the road.

Re: Medicom RAH Alien 2008!

I really dig it for it's matching of the design from the film. At this point, what it's made of and how much it costs are my only concerns, articulation isn't too important but I want to know it's made of materials that'll hold up, particularly if the price is really high, which if Indy figures from Medi are almost $180, I'd say this'll likely be $200.

Re: Medicom RAH Alien 2008!

Man this thing is just beautiful. Don't know if I'll be able to afford both Hot Toys and Medicom versions but I'll try. :monkey1

Re: Medicom RAH Alien 2008!

I think it's a beautiful looking figure, but I think I'll wait to see what HT comes up with. I might end up getting both.

My only real nitpick is I wish the fingers weren't so splayed apart.
