Re: Medicom RAH Alien 2008!

I think the hands are just fine actually. One trait of the ALIEN was it sort of approached victims with outstretched arms in a zombie like manner, like when it lunges at Dallas or starts to walk towards Lambert. It wasn't until ALIENS when the xenomorph really moved around within environments that the hands really posed much.

Re: Medicom RAH Alien 2008!

I'm not talking about the pose of the hands. I'm meant the fingers themselves. In almost all the shots they were together like it was giving the Vulcan peace sign and not splayed apart. Like I said, it's just a nitpick. Not a big deal.

Re: Medicom RAH Alien 2008!

It's a beautiful piece, unfortunately it's 4 inches too short to pose with my Aliens figures or ANY 1/6 Figures for that matter.

I'll wait for HT...

Re: Medicom RAH Alien 2008!

I think that for the articulation of this figure, the material for the alien is the same as Medicom's version of Venom from Spiderman 3? Just curious....

No I dont think so. I believe it would be a highly detailed rubber suit like many of Medicom's Ultraman Monsters(like Baltan's).

The downside is poseability obviously but atleast you wont see those joints.

Wow I didn't know that for the anime figures. I shouldn't complain too much for the articulation huh...:monkey3

Re: Medicom RAH Alien 2008!

Yeah they are cool. Medicom have been making these types of rubber suit monsters for years . tho I'm no Kaiju fan myself, I can appreciate them.

This XenoDwarf® will apparently retail for $200+ USD.

I say wait until Hot Toys unveils their's (which will probably be priced less and will be in the proper scale).

Re: Medicom RAH Alien 2008!

Wow!
This is a complete surprise!
I am in ++++ing heaven!
A Medi-Alien, how cool is that? And accurate to boot, simply fantastic. I mean, ++++ing wow!

I was just over at NECA last thursday, playing with their 21" and 9" aliens (which are simply fantastic, but more on that later), and now this!
Awesome.
From what I can see, the hips and legs, as well as the elbows are covered in a rubber suit (looks like somebody's been reading your mind Les!) and the chest and shoulders have standard articulation.
Another thing that is very clear is that the lower body is a bit oversized, probably to help balance the figure.

Beautiful.
I will own this, no questions asked. I'm still waiting for HT to announce theirs. Hopefully it'll be movie accurate, otherwise I'll probably pass. But this one I will get. It would be nice if it was close to 1/6 scale, 14"-15" would do nicely, but even if it is small, I'll get it!
Fantastic, I can't wait to have the NECA, Medicom and hopefully also the HT Giger aliens all exhibited!

What a great year for Alien fans!

I second your thoughts! I am excited about every version of the original Alien that we have coming our way!

Re: Medicom RAH Alien 2008!

Do you own any?How are they holding up?

While not one of the Ultraman, I have the 1954 Godzilla figure (guy in a rubber suit) and its probably close to 10 years old now and no signs of fatique, tears, etc that you might fear with something like this.

But, downside he as zero poseability... but looks f'n awesome :rock
