How much articulation are ppl expecting wicket to have?

Enough to kick your ass! :lol

I would like at least major limb movement... but what would be seriously kickass is a fur body suit, like the TZ Gremling figure :rock. I imagine figures with shorter fur wouldn't be as insane to reproduce as Chewie.

The guy in the suit in the movie didn't even look like hew had much REAL LIFE articulation.:lol

Okay, I have backed off my Medicom "over-priced" stance this year. I bought ROTJ Vader for 100 on Ebay, VCD Yoda for 48 shipped, and have Boba on order.

I came to realize that with Vader and Boba, the outfits were complex enough to accept the high cost. Yoda, I just bit the bullet ... well, because it's Yoda and I do not see Sideshow doing him soon.

But 68 bucks (with shipping) for Wicket is highway robbery. Is his hood made of Persian silk ... or maybe the hide of some endangered animal?!? Little to no articulation ... hmm ... plastic ... wait this sounds familiar ... spear his only accessory ... wait, I bought this item before:

It was released 9 years ago and only cost 15 bucks back then. Sure, the sculpting is a little better now ... and the paint job is much better. But, in terms of body, articulation, outfit, and spear ... it's virtually identical. It might as well be the Hasbro repainted for a 55 dollar premium. As much as I like Wicket and Ewoks in general, I refuse to pay more than 30 plus shipping for something like this ... so I guess I will never own him. Oh well, my Hasbro is fine for what it is.

Price point discussion aside, I don't think visually it can even be said that the Medi Wicket is even close to Hasbro's. The VCD looks like they yanked him right out of the movie and the Hasbro looks like a generic little bear.

Now, now MaulFan, don't let your hate of "Hasblo" cloud your vision. I won't argue that the sculpting has improved ... would be pitiful if it hadn't after 9 years of tech advances. HOWEVER, the Hasbro piece was an amazing sculpt back then, and still hold up favorably today. I will not argue your opinion ... since it's your right to have it, but for me ... with Hasbro Wicket sitting on a shelf beside me ... looking at the SSC pics, the difference is not that "ground-breaking" and definitely not worth 55 dollars.

Don't assume I hate Hasbro, because I don't, I still collect them to this day and have a heftly collection of their 12 inch pieces, my point was, while good for what Hasbro rolled out, the visual look of their Wicket pales to look screen accurrate compared to what the VCD offers.

The VCD definitely looks just like the little fuzzball. The sculpt is dead on where the Hasbro one looks like a generic teddy bear Ewok and not Wicket the Ewok.

I really wouldnt mind a PF Wicket.

Sorry, I am going to have to call shenanigans on your "generic little bear" comment.

Sure, the VCD has better "3D fur detail" - but no way you can tell me that the Hasbro version doesn't capture the look/essence of Wicket. And, while it might just be a lighting issue, the VCD facial coloring looks wrong when I compare it side-by-side with the movie picture.

P.S. Also, while this is truly nit-piking ... why has Medicom reversed his hood?

Do you even read what I say clearly. Yes the Hasbro is decent and captures the essence, my point was the VCD dead nails the appearance of the character where Hasbro did not.

Sure, because any collectible that "captures the essence of Wicket" is a "generic little bear." Sorry, I read all you comments and those two opinions contradict themselves.

You might have been thinking the first quoted comment, but you never communicated it in your early replies.

The Hasbro figure is a generic looking bear that happens to wear a cloth over his head like Wicket. The Medicom figure is sculpted and captures exactly the most minute details of his appearance from the film. Plain and simple, Hasbro gave a decent toy for $15 or whatever it cost back in the day, but Medicom's truly is Wicket.

Lets quantify that statement by adding "In your opinon ..." because I do not agree with any characterization that the Hasbro looks like a generic looking bear. It's Wicket, and anyone would recognize him ... hell, even without the hood. Is the Medicom figure superior? Yes. 68 dollars superior? Not even close in my opinion. Is the Medicom truly "screen accurate"? Nope. Look at the facial coloring on the Medicom. There is not enough dark coloring in the face to draw out the difference like in the actual screen used costume. Look at Wicket's hood. It's reversed and is a different design than the pictured costume. Is it superior to the Hasbro ... I am willing to agree with that statement due to the improvement of the 3D fur. Is it worth 68 dollars? Once again, in my opinion, no way.

I never said anything to do with the price, I said regardless of price, from a visual standpoint, the VCD is clearly a much better representation of the character.
