I might be in the minority here, but despite the scale,
I think they look great in this pic!

The craftsmanship and overall quality is there. But the attention to detail is most definitely not. Things are noticeably off with each of them. That along with the exorbitant price tag for each is what is turning many of us off.

That's exactly my opinion as well. High quality, but just not accurate enough for a nitpicker like me (and I'll totally admit I'm a nitpicker).

BTW LOL @ the SS fanboys who still insist (with no foundation to their argument) that SS's non existent versions will be better...keep the wet dream alive ladies PMSL

There is good reason to believe that Sideshow could best Medicom's droids based on their track record with like figures. With how low Medicom set the bar this time, accuracy-wise, this should be easy. Medicom's competitive advantage against Sideshow is usually in getting there first.

90% of the SW memorabilia out there since the dawn of the OT is not accurate... it is expensive, yes... but I think they are really sweet looking figure.
Just like SS Vader, yes it has the dome issue, and a dozen other little details but that doesn't make it less of a cool SW collectible IMO.

no foundation??? SS has bested Medicom on everything they've ever done. medicom's human sculpts all look like came from the same father. their troopers are puny and inaccurate. sideshow will blow these halloween custome droids away with their own versions easily.

It's all subjective though. I love most SS and Medi SW figures and each have their pro's and cons. I guess I just dont get the extremist views some folk have againt Medicom. As for pricing their's is comparable to other hi end 1/6 manufacturers

They look cool. I would consider getting R2's but I'll wait honestly.

Wan- Their price is comparable to others out there but the quality is not there overall.

Sideshow usually beats Medicom when it comes to normal figures, but the difference isn't quite as big for armored figures. But the thing is that Sideshow has never made figures like these (droids with totally unique bodies). The only thing close that I can think of was that mechanochair thing, which was frankly a disaster.

That's not to say that they can't beat these (especially with Hot Toys' help) but I don't know why people are so confident that they'll blow these away.

My guess is SS will use some sort of clone body variation when they make 3PO. R2 will just be a sculpted pieces with some articulation I would assume.

"Sideshow has never made figures like these"

nor had they made figures such as the Gam Guard or Hammerhead and look what kind of butt they kick.

will ss make the droids before or after chewbacca? maybe by the 12th....the 12th of never. :lol

The Droids are in the works I believe is what was said in a Q&A but I could be wrong. As far as Chewbaca well I don't want them to rush it. I truly want a real fury chewbaca and one that looks good. Not some of these customs you've seen. So if that takes years I'm fine with it.

People make cracks at SS for not having Chewie out but where is Medicom's? Closest thing we've seen is Hot Toys POTA figures which in production didn't come out as nice as the Proto's IMO.

Yes, Sideshow's 1:6 droids are already well into development. We'll see those before their Chewbacca. PFs will be first, though.

That leaves us in a tricky spot...pass on these or wait for the whispered SS versions...damn...:(

Will the SS counterparts be PFs or pose-able figures? Sorry I am kinda new in the Star Wars universe especially collectibles made by SS. I have to cut my budget in the short term so if SS is coming out with this Duo pose-able and more accurate that would help me a lot :p
