The more I look at these the harder it is to pass on them. Anyone found a deal on these? Medicom's prices are insane...

Barring SS or HT bringing out these two in proper 1/6 I will definitely be getting these - but not for $300+.

I saw R2 in hand for the first time yesterday, and as sweet as it is, it isn't worth a dime over $150 MISB.

Holding out for a while is my approach, the deals will surely come.

Hmmm... i think the figures are nice. The quality is great for the most part... although...

1) C3PO has pratically ZERO articulation. I don't need it to do battle poses but I would have expected a Little more give in the legs just to help stabalize.

2)the price is too much. I paid 170 a piece. They should be about 90.

3) The scale is really small. I'd read that the medicom were a bit smaller but I had no idea how small. The fact that I have sideshow vader one shelf up probably doesn't help.

I'm actually debating whether to keep them or not. They look good on the shelf but... i dunno.

Also, be mindful of pulling C3PO's head out of the neck joint. I accidentally did this and exposed the wiring leading into the head. I freaked out thinking I had broken it but I guess the neck post is just kinda firmly seated in there.

Will they light up though? Cuz that's essential imho. Also, R2 needs to have accesory arms and gadgets and telescoping what nots.

Lighting up is a gimmick. While it's cool, most won't leave them on all the time and will only turn them on occasionally, before forgetting about them all together and moving on to the next cool figure once he's received.

That's your opinion. I light up my figures every time I admire them. I bought a bag load of batteries so I could do it.

I got my guys sitting on the desk lit up as I type this. (sorry for bad iphone pics)

They only reason I would consider the sideshow versions was if they were just like the medicom but more appropriately scaled. (I mean look at how small 3PO looks in relation to the case and then look at Vader!)

Yeah, not having light up features in any "high end" Droid figures would be a huge fail.

Agreed. Even if seldom used, the light-up feature is a must-have for high-end figures that their 1:1 counterparts had.

It's also just an excuse for Sideshow to crank up the price another $50-$75. :lol

Good point but I hope (fool's hope?) that it won't be the case. In the case of 3PO, we're talking about just his eyes. R2 definitely encompasses more lighting but the costs can be shared between the two.

Who cares. Looks great as is IMO. Good pics. (still waiting for a deal on 3-po)

A SS version will unquestionably be true 1:6 scale. Despite what Oscorp says, I'd argue that most folks do care about scale. If these two were true 1:6 I'd have bought them long ago, even at Medicom's outrageous prices.

The only way I could enjoy these is if I displayed them separate from all my other 1:6 figures.

I am not supporting either side but truth of the matter most figures aren't really to scale. Few figures vary in height most use the same body thus indicating either all actors / actresses are the same size or scale is off.

Medi's downfall is they don't line up well with other 1:6th figures but the same can be said about SS Vader (to the other extreme). Not certain why all the hate on Medi when reality is SS, Medi and HT can all be held accountable for inaccurate scale.:dunno

You let your toys bother you like that? See i guess i just never understood that. What matters to me is if they look cool on the shelf, and are done well. Height comes second to me if at all. I just can't see getting all bent out shape for .4 inches or whatever it is. Medicom RAH'S are 300mm. (11.8 inches i believe) Now if Medicom figures were 9 inches i'd have a problem. Anyways the Medicom scale issue is such a dead issue and non-factor to me i don't even know why i addressed it LOL.:peace(I'm more concerned about sloppy paint apps, and Loose body's and fragility issues. Supposedly Medicom has taken care of the latter. Not sure about SS on how they're doing on the loose body's dealio, but that paint always worry's me.)

Anyways if a 3po deal is around someone let me know!
:peace
