Both are 12 inch fantastic in their design and implementation. However they are too expensive and especially the scale is not respected. Too bad ... Hopefully Side and HT will we offer products made both at the correct scale, less expensive. I ask here too right?

My Artoo arrived today from play.com but unfortunately has a small amount of paint damage to the dome (anywhere else and it wouldnt be noticeable) so will be going back.

Anyone know how long the play.com returns procedure usually takes? (obviously i'm aware that the weather and Xmas are going to prolong it) wondering if it's worth me just buying a new one and then sending this one back.

Theyre no too bad - you cab post it back yourself which is quicker then sent The replacement but isn't instant - as I remember when I returned anakin they wouldnt sent an replacement until they vhecked the return
( I ordered a rah anakin and received a 1/4 scale one !!)

just received my c3po - that was quick
handily i had some batteries in the cupboard!
looks truly great - but there is no escaping the size- as i said earlier i gonna put them on display together but just the two of them so it wont matter so much

in situ - will be moving to new case if xmas goes the way i hope...

no its the camera - the flash is way too harsh but if you turn it off the exposure screws up
its pretty weathered but nicely

really pleased with it

Great to see your pics SithLord! Inked, that sucks. I found out I need to exchange R2 because he arrived with a stress fracture in the plastic. Yeah, direct flash rarely compliments the subjects of a portrait--especially 1/6 figures that are within close proximity to the camera. Does your camera have an Av mode? Try opening the aperture and raise the ISO high enough to get a good exposure without using the flash. More photos are always welcome! Also, you might consider putting the droids on stands to help equalize the proportions with Old Ben and Luke.

Everything aside, these Medicom droids are still the best looking 1/6 SW figures I own.

I'm more a point and click camera guy but I will check
As I say I'm hoping to change some display stuff after Xmas and will display them alone anyway

Cheers, I decided not to wait for Play to contact me regarding the return and repurchased (which is lucky as they still haven't!)

Other than the paint problem it really is a great looking piece! I notice Play have now reduced Threepio by another few pounds and is now £94.99 so may have to persuade the wife to let me get him too!

Anyone have problems with the paint finish on 3PO? Got mine sans box from Goodshipped on eBay, and he has one or two paint issues quite noticeable too :(

I received my second R2 today but he unfortunately has sloppy blue paint splatters on the dome along with a scratch at the front. He also has a central leg that won't fully engage up into the body!:thud:

Have arranged for Play to collect both tomorrow. Hopefully the next one will be better

That's the problem with not buying from shps anymore - you used to be able to check stuff before paying *sigh* looking old now

The more I look at these the harder it is to pass on them. Anyone found a deal on these? Medicom's prices are insane...
