Cool Shot with the light.

SithLord, I think you will be pleased. I just received my Medi Threepio and I am quite happy with him overall. Yes, he is not perfect, but it is still the finest C-3PO 1/6 collectible available on the market. Okay, that still isn't saying much. Let me rephrase that. He is the best combination of value and quality of a C-3PO you can buy for your money regardless of scale. Yes, he is still over priced, but we won't have an alternative for at least a couple more years.

If Sideshow could improve on this figure, I would add adjustable brightness his eyes. At the current brightness, the details of the eyes are difficult to capture with a camera to replicate what we are familiar with seeing in the movies. He doesn't look nearly as bug-eyed in person and I think it has to do with being able to see the triangular set of slits in each of his eyes, rather than just bright round orbs. I tried manually setting my camera to underexpose the image, but the photo still doesn't quite do the eyes justice.

Elbow articulation was another point mentioned by another member. That would be nice to see as well, although I can see why it is difficult to accomplish and maintain the aesthetics of the pistons surrounding the joint.

Adding "real" wires in the midsection would be another detail I would like to see in the Sideshow version for an added depth of realism.

But again, overall, I am quite pleased with this figure. And yes, you need to buy batteries. But fortunately, you can get them rather cheap. Follow this link and you can buy 50 pairs for $7.50. That should last each of us a good while.

Im going to display the two together separately to showcase them
The detail is so good on medicom stiff - love my fetts

I think you undersold your photography sills - those are ace pix!

These look great although if the rumor is true about HT getting in on Star Wars, these two are no brainers....I'll have to hold out until I get confirmation.

Hot Toys iterations of the droids would certainly be stellar. But we are looking at two years, minimum. In the meantime, if you are looking for a quality display, these two fit the requirements. Even with their imperfect proportions, their realism and presentation easily trump all of my non-customized Sideshow figures.

Not to denigrate the great photos of these two, or those who chose to purchase these, but I had the opportunity to have a hands on look at these at my LCS, and for the price he was asking $370 CAD, I was very unimpressed.

The R2 looked great, but C3PO, WTF, the paint aps on the wires on the abdomen, a blind person could have applied better paint aps.:monkey2

An easy pass, unless I can get these for under $75.00 each.

Hmm, I kinda see what you are saying. But the paint on the wires actually look fine from any normal viewing distance and it is on par for a mass produced figure.

I agree is it overpriced, but will it really drop to $75? I have to say C-3PO looks more accurate and impressive out of the box than Sideshow's Darth Vader which retailed for $120.
